🔥 HOT YOGA TOP TIPS 🔥

Hot yoga comes with its challenges, but a little preparation can help you feel more comfortable, enjoy your practice and reap the benefits of your class. 🧘‍♀️

Here are my top tips for getting the most out of your heated practice:

💧 HYDRATION IS KEY
Drink plenty of water before, during and after class. You’re not only exercising, but sweating more than usual because of the heat. Consider having an electrolyte drink after class to help replenish fluids and electrolytes.

🌿 TAKE YOUR TIME & PACE YOURSELF
There is no right or wrong. If you’re feeling fatigued, under the weather, or simply not at a point in your practice where you can keep up — don’t!
Take a break. Come down into Child’s Pose or another restful position, stay there, breathe and catch your breath. When you’re ready, rejoin the class.

👚 WEAR LAYERS
Give yourself the option to take off a layer as your body warms up. Breathable, low-tox activewear can be a great option — sweating into thick Lycra isn’t always the most comfortable! Cotton or bamboo clothing can also be lovely choices for your practice.

💦 SURRENDER TO THE SWEAT
You’re going to get hot. You’re going to sweat. And that’s okay!
That’s what we’re here for. Don’t worry about how much you’re sweating or what anyone else is doing.

Bring a towel if it makes you feel more comfortable, breathe deeply, let go and settle into your practice.

Come as you are. Sweat, breathe, move and surrender.
Your body knows what to do. 🤍

Come flow through a strong, dynamic, flow-style practice where we move one breath, one moment at a time.

The warmth helps to loosen and warm the muscles, allowing you to move deeper into your practice, challenge your body and connect with yourself on a deeper level. Expect to move, breathe, sweat and flow. 🔥

5 Things I’ve Learned as a Yoga Teacher

I’m no yogi guru — I’m on a journey, just like my students. Every class teaches me something too.

1. Feeling “good” isn’t guaranteed.
Every time you step onto your mat, it won’t always feel light or blissful. Yoga is a practice — and sometimes that practice means releasing emotions, physical build-up, old stories held in the body. And that isn’t always “pretty.” But it’s honest. And it’s healing.

2. Growth lives in experience.
It’s not about perfection — it’s about participation. Let your humanness shine through. The messy, real, vulnerable parts are often where the deepest growth happens.

3. Teach the room, not just the plan.
Yes, be prepared. Feel the sequence in your own body first. But when you step into the space — feel out the room.
Are there injuries? Big energies? Beginners? Fatigue?
Your role is to respond in real time. Sometimes the best classes happen when you pivot.

4. Leave your ego at the door.
Ego loves control, praise, comparison. But teaching yoga isn’t about impressing anyone. It’s about holding space. You are a guide — and also a student. Always learning. Always evolving.

5. Never stop being a student.
Practice regularly. Invest in education. Self-study. Attend retreats. Collaborate. Connect with your wellness community. Growth as a teacher comes from staying curious and open.
