As National NAIDOC Week draws to a close this weekend, we celebrate the rich cultures, histories and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while recognising their enduring contribution to our communities and the Australian sporting landscape.

Softball brings people together through community, teamwork and respect. We are proud to recognise the impact and contributions of First Nations athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and leaders who continue to strengthen our sport.

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity to reflect on the strength, resilience and enduring connection of First Nations peoples to Country, culture and community, and to continue learning from and celebrating the world's oldest continuing cultures.

The Aussie Spirit start their World Cup Qualifier campaign 2:30am early hours of tomorrow morning!

Two games, two wins for the Aussie Spirit 💪🥎

The Aussie Spirit are building nicely towards the WBSC Women’s World Cup Group Stage 2026 in Prague, currently sharpening up at the Amsterdam Invitational ahead of next week’s action 🏆

Game 1 saw Australia dominate Czechia 8–0 in five innings, setting the tone early and never letting up. Georgia Hood powered the offence with a two-run homer, while the pitching staff combined for a composed shutout performance.

Game 2 was a much tighter contest, with the Spirit edging Italy 2–1 in a hard-fought battle. After Italy drew level late, Australia responded in the seventh to regain the lead and held firm under pressure, with Trzcinski closing it out when it counted.
