Because you have relied on habit and discipline to get those workouts done.
It’s not motivating to get up at 4.30am when it’s 4 degrees outside.
It’s not motivating to go to the gym after a day at work, and it’s raining and cold.
Motivation will not get you through winter.
So well done to you if you ticked the exercise box through this winter.
Doing hard things is the only way to get it done & succeed.

It’s not as simple as just ‘going to the gym’. Unfortunately.
There are other parts to the equation, and it’s keeping it all in balance.
Your food - how much are you actually eating? That determines your bodyfat levels. And the quality of food also affects your body in many ways (skin, digestion, energy, mental clarity + more).
And the amount of protein determines if you’ll build muscle. Hint: you won’t build muscle eating 50g a day.
You need to lift heavy to build muscle.
Most women drastically underestimate how much they are capable of lifting. We see this frequently. If you don’t have someone to push you then get a trainer.
Rest days are also important! This is when muscle grows and repairs. We recommend minimum 2 rest days from strength training a week. You can still walk these days!
Too much strength training has no benefit and can lead to injury.
As a ladies in our 40s and 50s we need to be sensible in peri/menopause and make this lifestyle work for us 💪🏻
All of this is taught in our challenge, we’ve just started one and it’s not too late to join. DM if you’re interested

More ladies reaching 100 classes for the year 👏🏻well done Kylie De Giovanniello , Sophie Clark & Ange
We were ALL admiring Celia’s triceps the other night 😍
Look at that definition!
Strong has a different meaning and application to each person.
It’s challenging yourself and working hard to lift heavy for YOU.
That depends on many different parts of the equation.
And that’s what we do.
We have ladies who couldn’t do a single sit up when they started, now they can do 50.
Strength is the key 🔑 for ladies as they age.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums and grandmums attending APFM 💐
It’s not easy exercising when you have kids.
But your health and fitness deserves to be a priority.
You’re in a better place for it.
When they’re small you do entire workouts holding them and struggle with sleep deprivation and illness.
When they’re older you try and do your workouts around all their extracurricular activities.
There’s always something.
But the best thing you can do is set the example to your kids and move your body.
Don’t stop 💪🏻
Break the pattern, or you keep on repeating.

If it was easy then everyone would do it 🤷🏼♀️
The key to building muscle is maximising what will work and then repeating it, for years and years.
It’s not something you do for a year and then stop.
Make it part of your life, not an optional extra.
