🎂 Birthday Kanga! 💜💃🏼

Today was my birthday, and honestly, I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it than dancing with my Monday Kangatraining ladies! 🥰

We had a smaller crew today with a few of our gorgeous mums home sick, we missed you! 💕 But the mums who made it brought the energy!

And because apparently I wanted to celebrate my birthday by making everyone suffer 😂, we pulled out our final choreo set for the term… and these ones were MADE TO FEEL THE BURN! 🔥💪🏼

There was sweating.
There were a few muttered curses 🙊
There were definitely some moments of “please tell me we’re almost done!”
But there was also SO much laughing, smiling and encouragement.

And let’s be honest… mums are bloody strong 💪🏼
We can survive sleep deprivation, toddler tantrums, feeding babies, carrying tiny humans around all day AND make it through an intense Kanga class.

So bring on the burn! 🔥

Thank you to my Monday ladies for making my birthday morning so special. I’m incredibly grateful for this beautiful community we’ve created, and I feel very lucky to get to spend my birthday doing something I love with some pretty bloody amazing women. 💜

Now… who else thinks I deserve birthday cake after putting you through THAT workout?! 😂🎂

Are you thinking, “Yikes... that’s unsafe!” If so, you’re right.
These AI-generated images were presented to the ACCC last year when we met to discuss the need for mandatory safety standards for baby carriers sold in Australia.
The images show an infant asleep while being carried in a forward-facing position. The concern isn’t just that the image is unsafe, it’s that parents may see advertising like this and assume it’s a safe way to carry their baby, or that the carrier itself has been designed and tested for this use.
With no mandatory safety standard or regulator overseeing baby carriers in Australia, how do we protect families from cheaply marketed products that use AI-generated images depicting unsafe practices?
As AI technology continues to improve, these images will become even more realistic and increasingly difficult to identify.
That’s why it’s more important than ever to support brands that invest in safety testing, provide clear education, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to safe babywearing. Parents deserve accurate information, not marketing that could put their babies at risk.

Thursdays are an absolute VIBE! 🙌🏻💜

Now, I can’t say my morning started off quite as smoothly as I would have liked 😂

There were toddler tantrums. There was sleep-deprivation brain sending me to the wrong place. And then, of course, there were absolutely no car parks… so arriving early was definitely not on the cards today! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

But thank goodness for a group of mums who understand that sometimes life is just a little bit chaotic.
Everyone had a good giggle, we threw ourselves into class, got our dance on and honestly? We all felt so much better afterwards 💃🏼💪🏼
Plus today’s weather was stunning! The sunshine was really the icing on the cake 👌🏻

I absolutely love listening to a room full of laughing, chatting and mums just enjoying themselves. The music is pumping, babies are along for the ride, and for that little bit of time we get to move our bodies, have fun and enjoy being surrounded by people who just get it.

Like I said… Thursdays are just a vibe! 🙌🏻💜

If you’re interested in joining us next term, bookings officially go live on Monday and we would love to have you join us!

This week our Monday Keeping Mum Group welcomed the lovely shereennielsen_sleepeducation to answer all of our questions around sleep and settling.

Sleep can be such a sensitive topic for families. As parents, we understand just how important sleep is to function and thrive but our little ones aren’t always on the same page. And finding a way to support their sleep goals that also aligns with our parenting style can be tricky.

What I loved most about our talk with Shereen was that there was no judgement, only support and guidance when requested. If what you are doing to support your children’s sleep is working for you, then that’s ok! You don’t need to change a thing if you don’t want to.
But IF you’re looking for alternative ways to approach sleep, then Shereen is always happy to work with you and your baby to make a plan that you feel comfortable with 💕

Where did the sunshine go?! 🌧️😂

After a beautiful sunny weekend, Monday decided to bring nothing but rain! But did that stop our Kangatraining crew?

Absolutely not 💪🏼

If anything, it just meant we had to dance a little harder to warm ourselves up! 🔥💃🏼
Thankfully, we’ve got the moves, the music and the most adorable little weighted vests to help us get the job done 👶🏼

There was plenty of dancing, plenty of laughs and definitely enough movement to forget all about the cold and rain outside!
And just a little reminder… 👀

Every mum deserves support.
Sometimes, that support just needs somewhere to start 💜

Every term, I give away one place in our Keeping Mum Mother’s Group to a mum who could really benefit from some extra support and connection.
Sometimes, we ask our community to nominate a mum they think would benefit from joining us.
Other times, a local midwife, community group or organisation reaches out to me directly because they’re professionally supporting a mum who they believe could benefit from being part of our program.

Until now, I have always taken on the financial responsibility of these community placements myself. And I will continue to do so, because I truly believe that every mum deserves the opportunity to find her village.

But I’ve been thinking…

Maybe there are other local businesses or community-minded people who would like to help support a mum in need too.
Imagine being able to provide a mum with a place where she can get out of the house, connect with other women, build friendships, share a coffee and morning tea, spend quality time with her baby and simply be reminded that she’s not alone.

If you or your business would like to donate an additional community placement for a mum in need, I would absolutely love to hear from you!

And if you are a midwife, health professional, community worker or organisation currently supporting a vulnerable mum who you think may benefit from joining Keeping Mum, please reach out. Let’s have a chat.

Because mums need support.
They need connection.
They need community.
They need a village.
And sometimes, that support has to start somewhere 💜

📩 Send me a message if you’d like to sponsor a community placement or discuss referring a mum who may benefit.
