You might have a shot at joining team Australia to compete at the world's largest martial arts championship 🏆 the US Open!

4 students from Sydney Karate Club were on the team in 2025 and we already know about 3 who will be aiming to be on the team... Talk to an instructor next class if you want to start competing at the next tournament.

Oh and do you want one more reason to join Team Australia? The event is held in Disney World!!!!

BIG SMILES AFTER A TOUGH GRADING

It was a big day in for Martial Arts on the weekend with the Return of Rhonda Rousey and Gina Carrano to the cage for a Legend vs Legend matchup of MMA.

Sure Rhonda won the match in 17s with her signature move a perfectly executed arm bar.

But it's this image from the end of the fight we think is the most inspiring part of it all for our students.

The fight ended and both competitors graciously got up off the mat and hugged each other, two of the toughest women in MMA in tears praising each others performance and what each other has done for the sport. Sure Rhonda won the fight but the sportsmanship on display immediately after is a valuable lesson to be learned, for everyone. Congratulations ladies the fight was over quickly but you both showed the world what true sportsmanship looks like.
