Council are proposing to grant Sydney Water a licence for 4 Compound Areas on community land in South Turramurra for essential works. 1 of these areas is in Rofe Park adjacent to 2nd Turramurra Scout Group. 1 is on the Yeramba St reserve and the other 2 on Kissing Point Rd - Vernon st and lower down next to Lane Cove National Park.
Please be aware any concerns and submissions need to be in by 20/4/26.
There are no details on how Sydney Water intends to mitigate pollution into the biobanking area of Rofe Park or the NP. There are also no details on how the site will be remediated afterwards.

Update on the condition of Mimosa Oval. The ground is closed to sports until the surface improves. Kissing Point Cricket Club and Hornsby Ku-ring-gai & Hills District Cricket Association clubs have not been able to use Mimosa, the surface is regarded as dangerous to players. It has had a part returfed and roped off. Staff are regularly watering the turf.

Unfortunately this has not stopped other parts of the ground being used for coaching of football, the kids in the groups all wearing studded football boots.

Please Ku-ring-gai Council put up some signs at least? The message is not getting through to football. Don’t wear studs in the cricket season and give the ground a rest! Ratepayers are footing the bill for rehabilitation that is going nowhere.
