Centrals is proud to announce Kyan Doble and Anton Thomas as our C Grade captains for the 2026/27 season! 🦁

Both Kyan and Anton bring plenty of tenacity, drive and passion to the role, and we’re excited to see them lead the side together this season.

Kyan has been a Lion his whole life, coming through our junior program and growing up in the blue and maroon. He’s excited to take the next step and begin his leadership journey alongside Anton.

While this will be Anton’s first official season as a Lion, he’s certainly no stranger to the crease. He brings plenty of cricket experience and a strong passion for developing and supporting those around him.

Together, Kyan and Anton are looking forward to building a strong team culture, developing their players and, of course, enjoying their cricket along the way.

Congratulations Kyan and Anton — we can’t wait to see what you and the C Grade Lions can achieve this season!

We are incredibly proud to congratulate our very own Kylie Collins on her selection in the Victorian Over 40s Women’s Masters Cricket side! 🦁

After seven trials throughout winter, Kylie has earned her place among the top 40 and will head to Launceston in November to represent Victoria at the championships.

An incredible achievement and one that is very well deserved. We know Kylie will represent Victoria with the same determination and passion she brings every time she pulls on the Centrals colours.

The whole Lions family is incredibly proud of you, Kylie. We can’t wait to cheer you on!

Centrals is proud to have been at the forefront of the growth of women’s cricket in the Latrobe Valley. Since fielding our first women’s team in 2021/22, our program has continued to grow, expanding to two teams in 2025/26.

It is with great Lion pride that we welcome back Brett Williamson and Anton Thomas as our women’s coaches for 2026/27! 🦁

Brett truly bleeds blue and maroon. A Centrals Life Member, player, volunteer and long-time coach, Brett has been involved with our women’s program since its early days in the Gippsland Cricket League and has since become a premiership-winning coach with the Lionesses. Centrals is also a family affair for Brett, with his father, brother, son, and both daughters having pulled on the blue and maroon.

Anton took the reins of our Women’s Championship side when it was established last season and returns for another year with the Lionesses, with his daughter and wife also playing in the womens teams.

For both Brett and Anton, the highlights of coaching our Lionesses are watching the players grow both on and off the field, mentoring our younger players and seeing them achieve their goals. Most importantly, they love the friendships, laughs and support within the group and seeing the way our Lionesses get around one another.

We wish Brett, Anton and all our Lionesses the very best for the upcoming season! 🏏🦁

If you or someone you know would like to join the Pride, send our page a message. New and experienced players are always welcome!

Congratulations to Brad Howlett on becoming an inaugural Life Member of Cricket Latrobe Valley, a fitting recognition for someone whose impact on cricket in our region is truly immeasurable.

There is so much we could say about Brad, so forgive us, this is going to be a long post.

As Cricket Latrobe Valley’s inaugural President, Brad played a leading role in bringing clubs together to create one of the strongest country cricket competitions in Victoria. Countless hours behind the scenes, endless phone calls, constant enquiries and more than a few challenges were all met with his
trademark commitment and, somehow, he managed to keep his composure… most of the time.

All players across Cricket Latrobe Valley know Brad Howlett, but we’re incredibly proud that the Buffalo calls Centrals Cricket Club home.

Making his senior debut in 1991, Brad went on to play an incredible 358 senior matches in the maroon and blue. Across his career, he scored 5,531 runs, claimed 385 wickets, took 172 catches and contributed seven stumpings, while celebrating three premierships along the way. Those achievements saw him deservedly inducted into the Centrals Hall of Fame and recognised as the club’s 29th Life Member.

But statistics only tell part of the story.

Anyone who has spent time around Centrals knows Brad is always willing to put the club first. Even with demanding work commitments, he’s always happy to lend a hand in the kitchen alongside Tash, help wherever he’s needed, or jump in the car to make sure Cooper gets wherever he needs to be. Whether it’s on the field, in the committee room or behind the scenes, Brad leads by example and embodies everything a community club stands for.

Brad’s impact reaches far beyond trophies, runs or wickets. He has helped shape our culture, mentored generations of players and volunteers, and shown what it truly means to be a Centrals person. His humility, commitment and willingness to give back have left a lasting mark not only on our club, but on cricket throughout the Latrobe Valley.

This season we adopted the motto Together We Rise. The truth is, we’ve risen because of people like Buff. His dedication, leadership and selfless commitment have helped shape the culture and community that Centrals is today. Long before Together We Rise became our motto, he was living it every day. For that, we are forever grateful that he calls Centrals home.

Congratulations again, Brad. We are incredibly proud to call you one of our own and thank you for everything you have done for our club, our league and our cricket community 🦁

Congratulations to Adam and Nethul on their selection in the Gippsland Pride Country Academy Under 16 Boys squad!

These boys are a big part of the fabric of our club, leading our juniors while continuing to challenge themselves in senior cricket. Their selection is a testament to the hard work, commitment and passion they bring to the game.

We’re incredibly proud of you both and wish you every success throughout the Academy season. Well done, boys!
