The children perform in 5 different events each week including: running (sprints, hurdles), jumping (high jump, long jump, triple jump), throwing (shot put, discus, javelin) and walking (race walking). We sometimes hold Wednesday night meets, which are required when a Region/State meet is to be held on a weekend

π CONGRATULATIONS ππ
It's been a huge week of competition up in Brisbane for two members of Read Racing.
Pip was first up representing Victoria at the Australian Little Athletics Championships in the U13 1500m racewalk, crossing the line in 11th place. Later in the week, she then went onto compete at the Australian Athletics Junior Championships in the U14 3000m racewalk finishing in an impressive season best time and earning her the title of 12th fastest in the country! π
Waiting out the week, it was Matilda's turn to compete in the U17 5000m racewalk crossing the line in FIRST PLACE earning her the title of National Champion!! ππ₯ For reference, Matilda covered 5km in 24:38, walking! That is faster than most people RUN a 5km distance, amazing!!
We are very proud of both of you!! π
