Some news from Casey ✨

To my beautiful UFD community,

After 21 wonderful years for myself as director, and 25 years collectively for our studio, I’ve decided it’s the right time for me and my family to close the studio at the end of the year.

This wasn’t an easy decision, but one I’ve made with a lot of thought. I’m incredibly grateful for every student, family and teacher who has been a part of this journey with me.

This certainly does not mean the end of dance, in fact it has now opened up the opportunity for two of our gorgeous teachers to go out and start their own ventures. This will mean more options and spaces available, and knowing that our dancers will be in very capable hands, means I can step back and now enjoy life after being a dance studio owner.

It’s not the end of my time around dance, and most importantly, I can’t wait to support my own children in whatever path they take. Family is everything 💖

I’m incredibly proud of my team and although dance will look different for us in 2027, the support for each other will always remain and seeing them fulfill their own dance dreams means everything to me 💫

My focus now is making these final months a celebration of everything we have built together. We are more than just a dance studio, we are a community and each and every dancer that has been at UFD has been valued and welcomed for who they are.

Our end of year concert is aptly named “With Love”, and I couldn’t think of a better send off 💕

✨ MID YEAR PRESENTATION 2026 ✨

What an incredible day!

Today, over 400 dancers took to the stage across three fantastic performances, entertaining an audience of more than 1,300 spectators. It was a wonderful celebration of the hard work, growth and dedication our students have shown throughout the first half of the year.

As Danceworks 114 celebrates its 30th Anniversary, days like today remind us what our studio has always been about. For three decades, generations of dancers have built confidence, friendships, memories and a love of dance that lasts a lifetime. Every student who stepped on stage today is now part of that story, and we couldn’t be prouder.

A huge thank you to our dance families for your continued support and encouragement. From weekly classes and rehearsals to cheering from the audience today, your support makes everything we do possible.

This year also marked our first Mid Year Presentation in a new venue. While every new space comes with a few teething issues, the patience, flexibility and positivity shown by our dancers, families and supporters helped make the day such a success. What truly made today memorable wasn’t the building itself—it was the people who filled it.

To our incredible Danceworks 114 staff, assistant teachers, backstage crew and volunteers – thank you. Events of this size simply do not happen without your commitment, organisation and countless hours behind the scenes. Your dedication to our dancers and our studio community is something we are incredibly grateful for.

A very special thank you goes to the amazing team pictured here. These wonderful helpers gave up their time to support our dancers, assist backstage, solve problems, calm nerves, and keep the day running smoothly. We are so lucky to have each and every one of you as part of the Danceworks 114 family.

Congratulations to every performer who stepped onto the stage today. Whether it was your first performance or your fiftieth, we hope you leave feeling proud of what you’ve achieved.

As we reflect on an incredible day and celebrate 30 years of Danceworks 114, we’re also excited for what’s still to come. We now turn our attention to our 30th Birthday Spectacular Showcase this December at the Gippsland Performing Arts Centre, where we’ll come together to celebrate three decades of dance, community and memories. We can’t wait to share this milestone event with you all.
