North Barrier Branch is the second Northern most Branch of Surf Life Saving Queensland.

North Barrier Branch was established in 1936 and is home to seven Surf Life Saving Clubs. The clubs of North Barrier Branch patrol the beaches between Sarina (near Mackay) in the south and Forrest Beach (near Ingham) in the North, in environments varying from open beaches to rocky island coves, surrounded by reef and the added uniqueness that comes with Tropical Waters. NORTH BARRIER BRANCH MEMBERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

The North Barrier Branch Membership Development Program (MDP) is coming to Mackay this July and we’d love to see members from across the branch involved.

📅 17–19 July 2026
📍 Mackay SLSC – Lot 67 East Point Drive, Mackay Harbour

The program has been designed for members of all backgrounds and ages — from Little Nippers through to youth members, parents, patrolling members and anyone looking to become more involved within their club or across the branch.

Across the weekend, participants can expect:
• Leadership and governance sessions
• Coaching and education workshops
• Surf sports & officials development
• Youth collective activities
• Networking opportunities
• Wellbeing and child safety sessions
• Activities for Nippers
• NBB Awards Night

This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with other members, develop new skills and help strengthen our branch community.
