Your body changes through pregnancy. The way you move needs to change with it.

Prenatal Pilates is adapted to where you are in your pregnancy, with modifications to support you safely through each stage.

Postnatal sessions help you rebuild strength and reconnect with a body that feels unfamiliar.

Join a group mat class with modifications to suit your stage of pregnancy, or choose a private 1:1 session if you’d prefer more individual support.

When you grip through the front of your hip in tabletop, what’s it revealing?

It feels tight. It feels uncomfortable. Your instinct is to stretch it out.

But that grip is information. It’s showing you where one part of your body is doing more than its share of the work.

That’s what we’re learning in Pilates.

Sometimes that sensation is telling you the movement needs to be modified, regressed or approached differently.

Every movement gives us information.

It’s not about performing an exercise perfectly. It’s about noticing what your body is doing and understanding why.

Over time, those small observations help improve strength, control and movement quality.

That’s one of the things I love most about Pilates. It’s not just about exercise. It’s about understanding your own body.

The springs on a reformer do much more than make an exercise harder or easier.

They can provide resistance or assistance, changing the demands of each movement to suit the purpose of the exercise.

It’s one of the reasons reformer Pilates is such a versatile way to move.

The springs on a reformer are more than just resistance.

They can provide resistance, assistance and feedback, changing the demands of a movement depending on what the exercise is designed to achieve.

That’s why more springs don’t automatically make an exercise easier or harder. The spring setting is chosen to support the goal of the exercise and the movement you’re trying to achieve.

It’s one of the reasons reformer Pilates is such a versatile way to move.

Mat and reformer Pilates are not the same thing.

They challenge your body in different ways.

The best choice depends on your goals and what you’re hoping to get out of your Pilates practice.

Both have value. Both are worth experiencing.

People often ask whether they should do mat or reformer Pilates.

The honest answer is that they aren’t competing. They challenge your body in different ways.

Mat Pilates uses your own bodyweight. Working against gravity, every movement requires control, precision and stability.

Reformer Pilates uses adjustable springs that provide both resistance and assistance, changing the demands of the movement without replacing the need for control.

Neither is better.

Both use the same Pilates principles. They simply create different movement challenges, and each has its own benefits.

Whether mat, reformer, or a combination of both is right for you depends on your goals, your experience and what you’re hoping to get out of your practice.

Both are taught at Ritual Haus.

One of the things I enjoy most about teaching Pilates is noticing the changes people don’t always notice themselves.

The cue that suddenly doesn’t need repeating.

The movement that becomes easier.

The adjustment that isn’t needed anymore.

Most progress happens quietly.

Then one day you realise something that once felt difficult doesn’t feel quite so difficult anymore.

Private sessions exist because a group class isn’t always the right fit.

Sometimes you need more space.

To ask questions. To slow things down. To work with what your body needs on that particular day.

If you’ve been curious about private reformer sessions but weren’t quite sure what happens in one, hopefully this helps.

Some sessions aren’t about pushing harder. They’re about being met where you are.

A private reformer session gives us time. Time to slow down, ask questions, and tailor everything to your body and the stage of life you’re in.

No question is too small, and the session is built around what you need that day.

Private reformer sessions available now. Link in bio to book.
