Ranchlands Townsville's oldest horse riding school has been teaching adults and children to ride horses for 44 years. We cater for the 6 year old horse crazy child to the nervous any age adult, who has always wanted to ride, but never had the opportunity. Besides helping you to get fit and stay supple, you will meet like minded people and have a chance to interact with these wonderful animals. F

We were busy during the winter school holidays.

Our Next Steps Program is the final program in the series, riders learn about what horses eat, parts of the horse, parts of saddle and bridle, helping to tack up their horse and riding by themselves. This is a huge step and all did such a great job, finishing up with playing some gymkhana games 😀

To our trusty volunteers, fabulous as always, thank you, we could not hold these days without you. And of course to our herd 💛 the main attraction, how amazing are they 🦄🐴🦄

Last week we held our Follow On to Intro - Level 2 during the school holidays 🦄

We are so fortunate to have such wonderful groups of kids - smiles on dials - playing with ponies - making new friends - happy days!!!!

Yesterday we held are annual Combination Challenge 🐴 another perfect Townsville Winters Day.

Ranchlands riders challenged themselves with a dressage test and jump round. They were exceptional.

Yup, not every test or round went to plan. But throughout the day, there were smiles, phenomenal sportsmanship and the love of their mounts was obvious.

Thanks girls you made the day most enjoyable and a big thank you to Sofia who did a super job calling the tests and helping with the day in general 🌼

LAST week (slow to update 🤦‍♀️) we had our infamous Intro to Horses - Level 1 session. It never disappoints - introducing ponies to new smiling faces is always a pleasure ☺️

Even if some of the unicorns were missing their horns on this day 🤔 this is why ride ponies and not bicycles!

All riders did an amazing job, thanks for playing ponies with us 🐴 a big thank you to our Ranchlands Volunteers 💛 and of course to the main attraction, our herd of unicorns (most of them 🙄) never work with children and animals they said 😀

Theresa has been part of the Ranchlands family for many years and we honestly don’t know what we’d do without her. A qualified Pony Club instructor with a lifetime of horse experience, she brings knowledge, dedication, fun, and just the right amount of “no-nonsense” to every lesson 😄

Her motto says it all:
