2 weekends of racing up at Cairns Speedway done and dusted!

Night one and two saw Jai come away with a heat win for the night and 6th in the Feature Race. Jai definately struggled over the two nights and needed to dig deep for the next two nights. So the boys spent the week camping at the track and it was all wet and windy!
Friday night came and went for the 2nd weekend of racing but the track was way too wet for any racing. So Saturday night saw 1 day with 2 nights of racing it was!
Saturday night heat 1 saw Jai start out in pole position with a very difficult track and had a good drive finished 1st having a convincing win. Heat 2 Jai started out of 8th and crossed the line in 4th. Heat 3 Jai started out of 5th and crossed the line in 3rd.
Heat 4 was the start of night 4 of racing. Jai started 3rd and finished 4th. Heat 5 started off the back in 9th position. Jai made great progress moving up to 7th position on the first lap, 3 laps in, unfortunately took some damage by a spun car and were unable to continue the night racing which was disapointing as Jai was leading the points for the night. Jai showed great improvement on his driving for weekend two driving hard and the car having some great pace. Well done mate you should be very proud of some good, hard, clean driving. Thank you to Dan Pitchfork for all your help for the night!

2 Big shows Saturday June 27th - the modified sedans northern nationals is putting on a massive day with the first show 1-4pm featuring juniors, production sedans and modified sedans and then the second show from 5pm will feature juniors, production sedans, modified sedans, wingless and sprintcars!!

We’ve got flames and fireworks, massive LED screen set up, and 8 hours of unbelievable Motorsport entertainment, merch stands, food trucks, festival atmosphere, bring your family and your mates, favourite camping chairs or blanket, mozzie spray and get set for an epic night!!!

Well unfortunately due to wet conditions up at Cairns Speedway no racing tonight with the program instead hopefully starting at 1pm tomorrow. So, instead of the cars going round the track the kids decided that some running races around the track was the next best thing!🤣😂😆

After a week at Cairns Speedway ready for some racing again for the 2nd weekend of Northern Nationals, Jai is waiting to see if he can give his Mirage another run in the Junior Sedan Top Stars due to some potential weather issues. Fingers crossed!!!

Packed and ready to head off to Cairns Speedway for 2 big weekends of racing for Northern Nationals with Jai's Mirage!

What an awesome two nights spent up at Cairns Speedway.
Unfortunately the Q36 modlite in heat 2 Dwayne Cotterell in the modlite came together with Q92 Brett Hehir and the wall and got some panel and tyre damage. Running two cars for the night there wasn't enough time to make the repairs so Jack Menzies and his team jumped in and fixed the modlite and Jack drove it for the remainder of the night due to having a few problems with his car. With a few set up changes he had the car right on the pace. Thanks Jack for the set up tips.

Jai had a really good night figuring out a few things with his new car.

Heat 1: started in 4th and finished in 4th
Heat 2: started in 8th finished 4th
Heat 3: started 1st finished 3rd

FEATURE RACE: Jai started in 3rd and crossed the line in 2nd position. Well done kiddo some good solid racing for the night.

Congratulations to Bray Taylor for the feature win and Jaydyn Hawkins for 3rd place. Well done to all the junior drivers for a great night of racing!

Its Race Day!!!!

Well it was only a couple of weeks ago we weren't sure if we would have both cars running up at the season opener at Cairns Speedway but here we are!!!

This one was mum's choice, so I sent Dwayne Cotterell and Jai on a HUGE mission, a 6000km return trip in less than a week, in the truck to pick up a car all the way from Victoria to get Jai out on the track tonight. The things you do right? 😂

Practice went well last night with both the mirage and modlite having some good runs out on the track.

Tonight is super exciting with 9 Modlites running up in Cairns and Dwayne's under strict instructions from Jai to race hard Dad!!!! Thank you to all the modlites that have travelled up north and special thanks to Dan Pitchfork for his massive effort to make this meeting possible for the Modlites as well.

Jai, although looking different for the season opener was really happy with how the car ran during practice last night and will no doubt be out there giving it his best tonight. Drive hard tonight kiddo and have fun!!
