Funeral Details | Trevor Rial 🦢

The family of Trevor Rial have advised that his funeral service will be held on Monday, 29 June at 2:00pm at Townsville Funerals Cremation & Crematorium, 3 Railway Avenue, Railway Estate.

The funeral notice will be published on the Townsville Funerals website this Thursday, with a livestream link available for those wishing to view the service online.

Following the service, everyone is warmly invited to join Trevor’s family and friends for a wake at the Curra Swans Football Club, Mervyn Crossman Drive, Annandale.

We know many members of our Curra family will want to come together to celebrate Trev’s life, share stories, and pay their respects to a much-loved teammate, coach, Life Member and friend.

Our thoughts remain with Raph, Mia, Josh and the entire Rial family.

Vale Trevor Rial

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Curra Swans Life Member Trevor Rial, who passed away on 13 June.

Trev was a proud Curra Swan, a fierce competitor on the field and one of the friendliest blokes around the club off it. Tough as nails between the boundary lines, he was an enforcer who played with courage and passion, but away from the game he was always there to support the younger players coming through, offering guidance, encouragement and a helping hand.

A Life Member since 2008, Trev served as Club President through some challenging years and remained dedicated to the Swans long after his senior playing days, coaching our junior teams and helping shape the next generation of players. He represented everything our club stands for: loyalty, resilience and mateship.

A former member of 1RAR, Trev was a devoted husband to Raphael and a loving father to Mia and Josh, with Josh proudly following in his footsteps through the Curra Swans juniors.

Trev’s impact on our club will be felt for years to come. On behalf of everyone at Curra Swans, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Raphael, Mia, Josh and the entire Rial family.

Rest easy, Trev. Thank you for everything you gave to our club. You’ll always be a Swan. ❤️💙

Tomorrow marks a special milestone for Aiden Johnson, who will run out for his 250th senior footy game.

Aiden began his senior career at Curra as a teenager after coming through the juniors with Alligator Creek before the merger with the Curra Swans. He went on to enjoy great success at Thuringowa Bulldogs, winning multiple reserve grade premierships alongside his late father, Foxy.

In 2025, Aiden returned to where his senior footy journey began, and he has been a welcome addition back at Curra. Known for his footy smarts and his work around the contest, Aiden brings experience, leadership and toughness every time he pulls on the jumper.

Congratulations, Aiden, on 250 senior games. A fantastic achievement.
