Those of you who took the Pirates bus over the Carnival Weekend, this legend was driving the bus, please return the favour and support JJ Taylor with this cause, I will let the legend say it in his own words below, support him!👇
🇦🇺 I’m walking Kokoda on ANZAC Day — and I’m doing it for a reason.
Next ANZAC Day, I’ll be taking on the Kokoda Track to raise money for Trojans Trek, an organisation that means a hell of a lot to me.
Trojans Trek helps veterans and first responders who are struggling to find their way again. It’s about purpose, connection, mateship and reminding people that they are so much more than the labels or battles they may be carrying.
I know what that means because I’ve walked that road myself.
But this journey has become even more personal.
I recently found out that my Great Pop was a prisoner of war during World War I.
I can only imagine what he endured, and I never imagined that more than a century later I would be preparing to walk Kokoda on ANZAC Day — following, in my own way, the footsteps of those who served before me.
I’ll be carrying his memory with me.
And I’ll also be carrying the stories of the veterans and first responders I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside through Trojans Trek.
This isn't just a walk.
It’s a tribute to those who served before us.
It’s a thank you to those who continue to serve.
And it’s a commitment to those who are struggling today.
Every dollar raised will go towards helping Trojans Trek continue its work supporting veterans and first responders to reconnect with themselves, their mates, their families and, most importantly, their purpose.
I’m asking you to get behind me.
Whether it’s 20, $50 or whatever you can afford, every donation will help.
And if you can’t donate, sharing this post could be just as valuable.
I’ll be training hard, walking a long way and probably questioning my life choices somewhere along the Kokoda Track 😂 — but I’ll know exactly why I’m doing it.
For those who served.
For those still fighting their battles.
For my Great Pop.
And for every veteran and first responder who needs someone to walk beside them.
🇦🇺 Lest we forget.
❤️ Please help me raise as much as possible for Trojans Trek.
