🏏 WEEKEND RESULTS

WHAT. A. START.

The Saints have opened the new season in style, with all three grades recording wins across the weekend!

FIRST GRADE
Saints 199 defeated Wests 178 by 21 runs
A strong all-round performance to get the season underway. Jd Wilkins (65) and Geo Benny (60) led the way with the bat, before Jason Batchelor (3/14) and Bailey Smith (2/26) helped Saints defend the total.

SECOND GRADE
Saints 5/107 defeated Brothers 106 by 5 wickets
The bowlers did the job first, restricting Brothers to 106 before Brendan Wakeley (37) and Aaron Campbell (30) led the run chase to get Saints across the line.

THIRD GRADE
Saints 6/163 defeated Brothers 129 by 34 runs
A great performance from Third Grade to round out the weekend!
Parminder Thind (48) top-scored, with Todd Perry unbeaten on 33* and Chris Llewellyn (26) making valuable contributions.
With the ball, Ashraful Kader (4/16) and Ian Jones (4/24) were the standouts.

And let's not forget.. a moment for the double hattrick by Ian Jones 🏆🏆

A massive congratulations to all of our players who took the field this weekend. It takes a whole club to get three teams on the park, and we’re incredibly grateful to our coaches, volunteers, scorers, supporters and sponsors who make it all possible.

In amongst a full weekend of welcoming cricket back to town we also had a few of our Saints ladies head down to Pub on Palmer for our second-last Cowboy's home game of the season! 🍻🏏

Pete who won the jersey on Saturday, was so excited that he took off his tigers jersey to put on his new Cowboys jersey 🤠🐮

Results wrap ups come through on Mondays, but we had to post about this one early.

Saints Junior Vice-President, and Life Member Ian Jones achieved a remarkable double hattrick in Third Grade at JCU this afternoon.

With the game on the line, Jonesy came and rewrote the script by taking an incredible 4 wickets in 4 balls to secure victory.

A lifelong dream achieved, not once but twice. Great stuff Jonesy! Get around the big man! 💙💛

Blast Cricket: Club-based one-hour after-school program for boys and girls aged 5-8 years (check individual clubs for which weekday). A fun-first program designed for kids new to the sport to learn through exciting activities and modified games. It’s all about smiles, high-fives and building a love for cricket. Participants receive a Blast shirt, hat, bat and ball as part of registration.

Junior Smash Series: A modified cricket competition for boys and girls aged 8-10. Played with a rubber ball, so no protective equipment required. Everyone gets to bat, to bowl and field in every position in a fast-paced (75 minutes), super-fun format played at Endeavour Park (Annandale) on Friday afternoons from 4.45pm. Most clubs also hold a training session during the week. All playing equipment provided. Participants receive a club playing shirt as part of registration.
