What a fantastic way to wrap up the SCVA Summer Social Competition!
A massive congratulations to the Sharks, who took home the win over the Chewblockas in a hard-fought straight-sets match that went just over an hour. It was incredible to see the Sharks sign their names as the very first signatures on our brand-new Ball of Champions—and check out that artwork!
To all the players who stepped onto the court and the supporters who turned up and made some serious noise: thank you. This community makes the game what it is.
We are taking a short break, but we will see you all back on the court very soon for the Winter Social Comp! 🏐

At SCVA, we believe that volleyball is a sport for everyone. Our club is built on a foundation of welcoming and accepting all players, regardless of their skill level or physical ability. As our community continues to evolve, we are dedicated to ensuring that our environment remains truly inclusive for every member who travels through our doors.
A major focus for us is strengthening our internal capacity to support our coaching teams. We are actively working to equip our coaches with the knowledge, awareness, and care required to support players across the spectrum of disability and neurodiversity. We recognize that effective communication and thoughtful coaching are essential to providing a positive experience for all participants.
To this end, I am pleased to share that today we began the process of certification through Disability Sports Australia, supported by the Australian Sports Commission. Our team has started this journey by participating in the Building Inclusive Sport Clubs course.
While there is still significant work to be done across many areas of the club, I am very proud to be involved in these foundational stages. We look forward to sharing our progress with you as we grow into a more accessible and inclusive club for all.
