Swimming teaches a kind of determination that goes far beyond medals, podiums, or even the praise of a coach. Those things may come and go, but the real reward is built quietly in the early mornings, the long training sessions, and the moments when no one is watching.

It’s in the discipline of showing up β€” even when you’re tired, even when progress feels slow, even when doubt creeps in. It’s choosing to push through one more lap, to hold your technique when your body wants to give in, and to trust the process when results aren’t immediate.

True swimmers learn that success isn’t defined by applause. It’s defined by focus β€” the ability to block out distractions and give your full attention to each stroke, each breath, each turn. It’s persistence β€” the refusal to quit, even after setbacks, bad races, or tough training days.

In the water, you compete against more than just others; you compete against your own limits. And every time you choose to keep going, to improve, to try again, you build a quiet strength that no medal can measure.

Because in the end, swimming isn’t just about how fast you are β€” it’s about who you become along the way.

What a Commonwealth Games for Rackley Swimming!

What an extraordinary fortnight it has been in Glasgow, and we couldn't be prouder of our Rackley Swimming athletes representing Australia on the biggest stage.

Congratulations to:
πŸ… Meg Harris – 6 Gold Medals
πŸ… Sam Short – 4 Gold Medals & recipient of the Keiran Perkins Award for Australian Male Swimmer of the Meet
🌟 Tiana Kritzinger – Outstanding Commonwealth Games debut, competing in the 800m and 1500m Freestyle finals.

Together, our athletes contributed an incredible 10 Commonwealth Games gold medals, an achievement that reflects years of hard work, dedication and commitment.

A special congratulations also goes to Head Coach Damien Jones, whose athletes combined for 10 gold medals at these Games β€” a phenomenal coaching achievement and a testament to the world-class high-performance program at Rackley Swimming.

Sam’s historic campaign was a standout moment, becoming the first man in Commonwealth Games history to win gold in the 400m, 800m and 1500m Freestyle events at the same Games, while Meg’s six gold medals saw her equal the record for the most gold medals won by an Australian athlete at a single Commonwealth Games.

While the 2026 Commonwealth Games continue, Australia’s campaign has already been powered by a historic performance in the pool, with the Australian Dolphins securing an incredible 37 gold medals across the swimming program.

To Meg, Sam and Tiana β€” thank you for inspiring our swimmers, our families and our entire community. You have proudly represented Rackley Swimming, Queensland and Australia, and we can't wait to see what comes next.

Once a Rackley swimmer, always part of the Rackley family πŸ’™πŸ’šπŸ’›
