In 2002, Nicole Irving a former member and student of the Glennie Swim Club, won Bronze in the 50m Butterfly at the 2002 Manchester Commonwealth Games. In that same year Ben Armbruster was born. Fast forward 24 years, Ben becomes the first former DDRSA via Stanthorpe Swimming Club representative to win a 🥉medal at the 2026 Glasgow Commonwealth Games in Pb time.
We are beyond proud of Ben, and are equally as excited about the prospects in the 50m Butterfly.
Congratulations Ben, and his parents Scott and Shannon Swimshan Mrsa . A special mention to Ben's age group coach and pillar of support Gail Smail.

EVENTS | My Site 05/06/2026

The 2026-27 DDRSA calendar has been released on the DDRSA website.

There are a couple of TBC remaining and we will edit these as they are confirmed.

PLEASE NOTE
The 2026 DDRSA Short Course Championships has had a date change.
They will now be conducted on July 12th at the Toowoomba Grammar Aquatic Centre.

This is the DDRSA Short Course.

The Toowoomba Grammar Club meet will follow at the same venue a week later.

DDRSA is aware this is the final day of School holidays.

As a region our volunteer committee spend many hours exploring all possibilities, and some times mistakes are made.

The original date clashed with National School Championships.

We understand this decision may affect some families, and for that we apologise.

We look forward to seeing the Regions swimmers compete on the day.

A reminder to clubs that the new season affiliation to Swimming Queensland will need to be paid, together with clubs new season membership being placed on Swim Central.

Swimmers will need the new 26-27 membership before their nominations for this meet will be accepted.
