Southern Suburbs junior rugby league extend its condolences to the Morris family after the passing of life member, Sue Morris after a brave battle with cancer.

Sue worked tirelessly within our club taking on
many roles. We are deeply saddened to hear this news. 🕊️

Notice is provided to all members of a special AGM on Tuesday 18th November. This meeting is to elect the role of treasurer.

2026 Committee 🐯

We again extend our thanks to our 2025 committee for all your hard work and welcome some new faces to our committee in 2026. We still have the following roles available:

⭐️ Registrar
⭐️ Referee Coordinator
⭐️ Canteen Coordinator (Paid)

In 2026, we see some members stand down: Tammika Murtagh who has been our treasurer for a number of years, Sarah Choyce who has diligently and cheerfully organised referees as referee coordinator and Rikki Gainey who held the role of registrar and publicity officer.

We also see Andrew Trapp step down after 12 years on the committee. Trappy has worn many hats over the years including president and we thank him and his family for the time that he has dedicated. It’s certainly a thankless job at times and to be involved for so long is inspiring to many.

Congratulations to Jonny Ward who has been in Ballarat representing Queensland in the U12 Touch Football State Championships, coming away with a GOLD medal! 🥇

Refereeing is such an important part of our game and we are always on the look out for more. Any child over 13 is able to become a referee and we welcome any parents interested also! It’s a paid job, so a good way for the kids to earn some pocket money 💰

Last but certainly not least, THANK YOU to our incredible referee coordinator Sarah Choyce. It’s a big job and not always easy but we appreciate you so much! 🧡💐
