We are sad to see our 2026 season coming to an end! But super excited for 2027!! So excited in fact we are keen to lock in some amazing businesses to partner with.
Partnering with us assists in buying equipment and resources for players, reduces playing fees for our families and helps with the general upkeep and maintenance of our grounds. All of which are vital in our growing footy club.

Last night, the Newtown Lions enjoyed a fantastic night at the Toowoomba Turf Club for the annual TJRL Gala, proudly hosted by Souths. It was a wonderful night celebrating the people who make it all happen!

The night was spent celebrating junior rugby league, catching up with familiar faces and recognising the incredible people who give so much to our clubs.

A huge congratulations to Deanna Karaka, who was awarded Newtown’s TJRL Volunteer of the Year Award! 💙🦁

So incredibly well deserved. Deanna has worked tirelessly to help keep our club running, not only in her role as Registrar, but through the countless other things she does behind the scenes. Her dedication, time and commitment to Newtown certainly does not go unnoticed!

We also had the opportunity to celebrate our incredible club captains and committee members, who have all played an important role in making this season what it has been.

It truly takes many hands to run a footy club, and we are incredibly grateful for every person who gives their time to help make Newtown Lions the special club it is.

That’s a wrap!!! The weekend put on some great weather and our players put on some great footy!! So proud of their achievements this year and seriously can’t wait for next season to roll around. Congratulations to the below players for being awarded The Local Grocer IGA Westbrook Player of the Match for the last game this season

What a year it has been! We are so very grateful to all our families and volunteers this year. Watching the players grow with confidence and skill throughout the season has been a highlight!! Making friends who are more like family is what junior footy is all about!! Take a break and gear up for a strong 2027!!! Up the Blue Bags!!!!
