Every great community race day is about more than what happens on the track.
This year, we're proud to partner with Momentum Mental Health as the official charity partner of the 2026 1EQUINE Weetwood Raceday.
Momentum Mental Health is a local not-for-profit organisation dedicated to making mental health and wellbeing accessible to everyone, every day. Through free one-on-one and group wellbeing coaching, they support individuals across the Toowoomba, Southern Downs, Western Downs and South Burnett regions, helping people build resilience, navigate challenges and improve their overall wellbeing.
As one of the Darling Downs' most iconic race days, Weetwood has always been about bringing our community together.
We're honoured to use this year's event to help shine a light on the incredible work Momentum Mental Health does every day.
Join us on Saturday, 26 September as we celebrate great racing, great company and a great cause.
Together, we can help create stronger, healthier communities.
Eye catchers from Saturday night's meeting 🔎👀 (part 3 of 3)
Race 3 - 1625m MADALSA Going to stick solid with this Pat Webster trained mare who we already had noted down as en 'eye-catcher' from 8/8 (see below). As mentioned she didn't get the step up in distance however also found herself in an awful spot. Liked the way she hit the line late, stick! (note the video attached is the previous 8/8 run).
Going around tonight in R3 we don't get the step up in distance unfortunately however down plenty class with a claim for Chloe Lowe to help offset the weight rise looks very competitive.
Eye catchers from Saturday night's meeting 🔎👀 (part 1 of 2)
Race 5 - 1625m MADALSA (Pat Webster) Highlighted (purple, black cap). On the 7-day back up, rising in class & having her third consecutive run around the mile range she rattled home after settling last in the run not aided by a sluggish start. Looks ready for a step up in distance.

Weetwood only comes around once a year and with spaces already selling out, now’s the time to secure yours.
Eye catchers from Saturday night's meeting (part 2 of 3) 🔎👀
Race 2 - 1050m JEMELDI (Phillip Minter) Highlighted (black jacket, white sleeves, pale blue cap). Shooting for the hat trick he wasn't able to make any use of the inside draw & ended up in an awkward position over the short trip. Held up, weaving through late he brushed with a rival & did want to lay in a little. He's an iron horse this one having raced at least once every month since December last year! 🥊
Eye catchers from Saturday night's meeting 🔎👀 (part 1 of 3)
Race 1 - 1300m ABRAHAM (Nick Keal) Highlighted (royal blue, white lightning bolt, white sleeves with blue lightning bolt, white cap). Looks ready to win with a step up in distance, 3 runs this prep he's drawn poorly & had no option than to settle rearward on each occasion. Having to come wide he kept finding the line well & his ninth fastest last 200m split of the meeting was very encouraging.
Long before it became one of Queensland's premier country race days, Weetwood was already making its mark.
First run in 1933, the Weetwood Handicap has grown from a prestigious local sprint into one of the state's most respected regional races, earning a reputation for quality fields, unforgettable finishes and future champions.
For more than 130 years, the Toowoomba Turf Club has been at the heart of racing on the Darling Downs, and Weetwood remains the jewel in its crown, a celebration of heritage, community and the excitement of country racing.
While so much has changed over the decades, the spirit of Weetwood hasn't.
It's still about great racing.
It's still about bringing people together.
And it's still one of the biggest days on the Darling Downs calendar.
Join us as we continue the tradition on Saturday, 26 September for the 2026 1EQUINE Weetwood Raceday.
