Sean Hone and Kim Grech were recognised for their many many years of dedication to our club.
Sean began playing for Sawtell in 1976 representing the club for 23 years. He was president in 1990 and 1991 providing leadership in an important time of the club. In 2011 he began coaching, continuing to share his knowledge and experience and passion for the game with the next generation. This year he’s continued coaching the under 16 girls and assisted with the Men’s Div 1 teams.
Sean brings people together- establishing the Thursday Kick about- creating an opportunity for masters, seniors and emerging juniors to come together and play together- building confidence and connection. He’s a valued mentor to many players over his 40 years with our club. Thankyou Sean for everything you have done and continue to do for our club.
Kim has given 10 years of wearing many hats, playing for women’s masters, canteen manager, 6 years managing our Men’s Prems and Div 1 teams and helping with the coaching of our mini Roos.
Kim served as President for 3 years in which she helped plan and develop a new field for our club- T6.
Kim this year has taken on role of registrar once again giving her time to help the club. Kim will often give above and beyond to help players out or fill needs in the club.
For many of our players Kim has become a second Mum- someone who cares and listens and is always there. Her contribution isn’t measured by the roles that she’s had but by the people she has supported. Thankyou Kim for everything
