A men's and women's Australian rules football club established in 1954, based at Como Park, South Ya

At the Old Geelong Football Club we welcome any players and supporters interested in being a part of the Club and learning about the great game of Australian Rules Football. Players of varying ability and background have played at the OGs since the Club began back in 1954, including many players from overseas and interstate. With the depth of teams we can provide a level and an environment that is both challenging and enjoyable for participants.

50 game for Jimmy “Himmy” Adams.

From young Prince to “Himmy”.

Adams’ first number of games came in the Reserves, where he went on a run of six Best on Ground performances in a row before getting his chance in the Senior side.

His first Senior game was a wet and tight contest out in Ivanhoe, a game that couldn’t be split until Jimmy Adams, tucked tight on the boundary with rain slashing down, decided to announce himself to the VAFA and declare that enough was enough. He was going to swing the game in our favour and kick the most filthy checkside nana the OGs might have ever seen.

From day dot, Jimmy has shown that leadership is in his blood. If he has a poor quarter or misses a kick, he picks himself up and nails the next play. Putting the boys on his back week in, week out, there is just no quit in the kid, and the OGs are in good stead with Himmy in the side.

Jim, watching you grow on the field and become the young King has been special, but watching the care and love you have for your mates off the field makes us all so proud to have you a part of the OGs.

Well done on 50, and here’s to 50 more!

50 games up for Will Eggins.

It was clear from his goal on debut in Round 1, 2024, for the Seniors that this kid was going to be a star. A maturity level unseen for someone of his age, Eggins has done nothing but impress during his first 50 games at the club.

His ability to win contests in the air and dash off the half-back line constantly leaves his opponents bamboozled. But he doesn’t stop there. He then starts the OGs’ forward attack with some of the most pinpoint-accurate kicks we have ever seen.

He’s poised and calm, he’s smart and cunning, but give him the ball on the run 60m out from goal and he becomes deadly.

We thank you for your cool, calm and collected leadership and appreciate the hours you put into the club to make it a better place. The hours spent on PT getting to training don’t go unnoticed. It’s a level of dedication that inspires those around you.

The OGs found a good Egg in this one, and Eggo, we are so bloody pumped to watch the next 50.

Congrats, mate, and go well tomorrow.

50 of the great VAFA games for Lawson Smart.

A man who knows how to entertain and get a room laughing but also an OG that's prepared to put his hand up and be the first to help whereever there is a need.
Get around him as he leads his thirds army out to battle tomorrow for his 50th game.
A special mention to Borat, one of America's Founding Fathers, Anchor Man and many more great characters who have helped you read out the teams on a Thursday night.

Lawson, it's been a privilege and a blessing to have you down at the OGs, from all of us here, congratulations on 50 games and we cannot wait for the next 50.

PS - We Fking Hate These Blokes!

50 GAMES FOR ABBYYYYY 💙💚🤍

This Saturday, we celebrate Abby! as she runs out for her 50th game in the blue, white and green!

Since making her debut in 2021, Abby has become such an important part of our senior women’s program. A player who brings plenty of grit, courage and class to the field, you know you’re going to get nothing short of 100% from Abs every time she pulls on the jumper.

But as good as she is on the field, it’s what she brings off it that makes her so special. Abby is genuinely one of the kindest, sweetest and most caring people you could meet, with a heart of gold and a smile that is pretty hard to beat. She’s the type of teammate who makes everyone around her feel welcome, supported and part of the team.

A crowd favourite, a team favourite and an absolute gun in the blue, white and green. 💙💚🤍 Abby Allsopp
