A great day today at the Centre, with the final round of the Port Stephens Coloured Ball Interclub Series.
We had 42x eager “Hot Shots” arrive this morning and what a display they put on. The players showed exceptional “values” across the board with clubs from “Blake Denison’s Tennis Academy”, “Lauren Roach Tennis” and “Discover Sports Group (Newcastle). And of course, us, all competing. From kids as young as 6, through to green stage, we saw what happens when coaches collaborate. The power of these events is truly inspiring and puts tennis in great hands for the future. The aim of the day is to have fun playing, meet new friends and to find your level. I think we ticked all of those boxes this year.
To our team, we didn’t see results move in our favour. However, we did learn some things about ourselves and what we need to do to develop our tennis. This is where champions are built from. This is the place we can grow from. Kristen, the coaching team and my self are very proud of you all for giving it your best today. It truly fills our cup to see you all playing.
Finally, congrats to all the individual winners from today. You should be proud of what you’ve achieved and put that trophy in a spot everyone can see.
And now, to announce the winning Coach for this series…
A massive congratulations to Lauren Roach Tennis. These guys dominated the series from the start, with an exceptional crop of young players. It’s great for the rest of us to have something to aim at, so thank you to Lauren and all your players for your participation, and congratulations on winning the series. We look forward to the challenge of playing you again next year.
We can’t wait for the 2027 series and hopefully see more coaches and clubs collaborate with us to add to this series.
And finally, to all the kids and families who have played this year. Thank you. Without your support, none of this is possible. We’ve enjoyed getting to know you all and look forward to seeing you on court sometime down the road.
But for now, that’s game, set and match for the PSCBIS for 2026….
