Today was my 12‑month oncology check‑up.
Two years out of treatment.
It’s been a reminder that we can do anything when we set our mind to it, to expect some set backs along the way and to be kind to yourself on the journey.
Here’s something I want you to remember if you are on your own journey to recovery or to getting stronger…
Some weeks you’ll feel stronger, more mobile, more confident.
Other weeks, just showing up is the win.
Today I’m celebrating the version of me who kept going, even when progress didn’t look “perfect” or felt like it was moving too slowly.
Struggles are real but it makes the wins all that sweeter 🙌

New client this week:
“I don’t want a gym body. I just want to sit, bend and move better.”
Me:
“Perfect. You’re in exactly the right place.”
I work with a lot of clients that have spent their lives taking care of others and not so much themselves.
Their body might have some pain, stiffness, lack of energy, disconnection to their body , but when they find me we work together on that changing.
My new client this week was recommended Pilates by their osteo.
They were advised to find a class with only 3 or 4 people, and a class that is tailored.
Not a group Reformer.
And that lead them to me.
This is just the start for my new client but I get really excited because I know where this work can take them
Like Joe said , “return to life”
Literally!
Watch this space for my clients results down the track 🙌

I’ve been practising it for decades but after my health crisis in 2024 my motivation went up 💯 percent
I would love to know, what inspired you to start Pilates?

Back pain doesn’t mean your life has to stop -it means you need the right kind of movement
Research shows that Pilates can reduce pain and improve function in people with chronic low back pain, especially when it’s tailored to your body and done consistently.
In my small‑group sessions (capped at 4 clients) I keep class sizes deliberately small so every exercise can be modified to support your back, build strength, and help you move with more confidence.
I have also personally been on this journey myself.
Want to try a back‑friendly Pilates session? DM me or book via the link in bio.
Tuesday Tip for your 100 👌🏻
Hold a stick, ( or a band or a towel) gently pull it apart.
Feel your shoulder blades widen, upper back connects. This is key to minimizing neck pain here.
Feet in Pilates V on a chair or box.
Press down → feel glutes + inner thighs working.
Keep those connections as you pump your arms.
Pilates is full‑body in every exercise.
Practise this detail all week , then I would love to know how this changes your hundred ❤️

My top 3 Non negotiables as a Pilates instructor…
✅ taking sessions with a more experienced instructor
( i love my regular private sessions with Cath)
✅ consistently working on my own practise on all the apparatus
✅ engaging in ongoing education
All Pilates instructors should be doing these things to be able to give our clients the best possible experience in the Pilates studio.
We shouldn’t just talk the talk , but walk the walk.
I invest my time and money into upholding high standards for my clients. All instructors should be doing the same.
The result of this speaks for themself.
I see great positive changes in my clients week after week.
If you are a client this is what you can expect of me.
If you are an instructor, what would your top 3 non negotiables be?
Keeping your back pain free and strong is possible!
I have done it myself(2 years ago I couldn’t walk, put on my shoes and turn over in bed because of a bulging disc) and I have taught hundreds of others like me.
But for this to be your reality you must
✅ Build your strength gradually with exercises specifically for your condition and your level of ability currently
✅ be mindful of what you do outside of the studio
If you know that certain activities or movements aggravate your back, then you will need to hold off for now until you are in a better space
✅ recognize that flare ups are going to happen. But sticking to your practise will make them less frequent and less intense as time goes on
✅ keep up your workouts even when you are out of pain to continue to build strength and functionality to bullet proof your back
✅ keep doing your daily exercise idea at home in between your studio sessions
When you have a sh*t back the reality is you will need to be on top of it for the rest of your life
I have 2 spaces available in the studio right now.
If you need help with your back reach out x

This lovely review popped up from 7 years ago !
Lesley is still a client to this day!
Want to hear from more of my clients?
I will share for you ☺️
Three things that are worth spending money on when it comes to Pilates…
1. Sessions with a fully comprehensively trained instructor (aka me 😉)
2. Private Pilates sessions
3. Small group Pilates sessions (and 6 in a class isn’t a small group imo, 3-4 is however😉)
