Meet Mark Vincent.
If you’ve watched Carols in the Domain or love musical theatre, you already know the voice. Mark won Australia’s Got Talent at 15, has topped the ARIA charts, sung at London’s Royal Albert Hall, and was hand-picked by Dame Julie Andrews to star in My Fair Lady.
At tribe, none of that gets him out of a single rep.
He trains with JG every week, fitting sessions around national tours and life as a busy dad of three. Different stage, same work ethic - show up, do the work, no shortcuts.
And this December is the biggest one yet: The Gabba in Brisbane for Carreras & Friends, a global concert celebrating the legendary José Carreras’ 80th birthday. Mark’s on the bill alongside Robbie Williams, The Corrs, Ronan Keating, Natalie Imbruglia and Katherine Jenkins. He is also performing at the Pavilion Theatre on the 15th Dec 2pm at his Christmas Spectacular show with special guests James Morrison and Damien Leith.
From the gym floor to a stadium stage. We’d say break a leg, but you’ll need both for your lunges. Go well, mate.
Membership No. 1. There’s only one, and it belongs to Matt Hartley.
Fifteen years a member, and technically a bit more than that - Matt started training a full 12 weeks before tribe even opened its doors. His reward for being first in? Mark broke him on his very first session. He came back anyway. He’s been coming back ever since.
Big personality, bigger collection of stories - including one involving pre-workout that we’ll let him tell you himself. He’s a PT devotee and a Sandhills die-hard.
His message to every member, new and old? Don’t miss a Sandhills workout. It’s the best. Fifteen years in, he’d know.

Kev Sherlock - tribe Kirrawee's Member of the Month for July.
Six days a week, every week: He does boxing, circuit, Spin and three runs. No weights - he detests them and has made peace with it. (So have we, Kev.)
Ask him to pick a favourite trainer and he won't do it - the whole team, apparently. He will, however, go on record that Maddie and Sarah have the best playlists in the building.
Kev moved to Australia five years ago, and says there's nothing like running into a Kirrawee sunrise with a like-minded crew. His word for it: euphoric.
But the reason he's up at 4.15 every morning (driving his family berserk) runs deeper than routine. Kev lost his mum at the age he is right now. Keeping his heart healthy is personal - it's about being around, and present, for his family for a long time yet.
You can't out-train a poor diet, and you can't fake consistency. Kev has both sorted. Proud of you, mate.
To celebrate, Kev's taking home a gift pack from our good mates at Random Harvest. Well earned.
“It’s not punishment. It’s never punishment.”
Antoinette had done a few tribe challenges before. But The Shift was the first time she got honest about what she actually wanted - and she’ll tell you filling in that first sheet was the hardest part of the whole 8 weeks. First time in maybe ten years she’d asked herself why.
The daily weigh-in nearly stopped her signing up. She was worried she’d get obsessed with the numbers. Then Ty told her: “It’s not about the numbers - it’s about educating yourself.” Light bulb.
The little stuff shifted too. She’d never eaten sitting down - breakfast standing up, feeding everyone else, not even noticing what went on her own plate. A bad day used to earn her half a packet of Tim Tams. One missed workout used to mean “well, that’s it, I’m done.”
Not anymore. “It’s not about cutting everything out and suffering. It’s not about being perfect. If you make a mistake, you reset at the next meal.”
That’s The Shift. Structure, not punishment. Balance, not perfection.
The next round starts Monday 14 September.
Registration opens Tuesday 1 September - spots are limited. If you’re ready to go, let us know. We’ll call you to discuss.
Perimenopause series, eat more.
“It’s very hard for women to know that actually if you increase your food intake and increase your protein intake, you will lose body fat and gain muscle. And it is actually a fact.”
That’s Brandi, and she says it because most women have spent decades being told the opposite. Eat less. Do more cardio. Shrink.
Then perimenopause arrives, the old approach stops working, and the instinct is to cut harder. It’s the wrong lever.
More food. More protein. Lift heavy. That’s the combination that changes body composition in your 40s and 50s - not another round of eating less.
Once a week, some of the Shire’s busiest blokes clear the diary for this.
Most of them are our OG members. Business owners, bosses, blokes who run the show all week - and then hand it all over to Kayla for an hour.
There’s a workout in there somewhere. Between the banter.
Some crews you can’t buy your way into. You just have to show up long enough.
To be fair, Sarah here has a point. If you think people who go to the gym at 5am are mad, think about those who do a full day’s work and then go.
Absolutely nuts.
But whatever timeyou choose to go to tribe, you can guarantee there’s people there who make it easier. And that’s what we love. The crazies there all together.

Not just great trainers. A proper team.
Proof? This lot took out the Oztag grand final last night.
And it wasn’t a smooth run. Jackson injured. Tatum injured. Most weeks they were playing with barely a reserve on the bench.
Add to that a Monday night comp, when half of them are up well before 5am for the first class on Tuesday. Not exactly ideal.
Didn’t matter. They showed up, backed each other, and got it done.
Same crew you see on the gym floor every week. Now with a trophy.
This one’s for the 47-year-olds. (Which, funnily enough, is the average age of a tribe member.)
Mark sat down with Dr Brandi Cole - sport and exercise physician, former team doctor for the Matildas and the Roosters - to talk perimenopause. What’s actually happening, why “your bloods are normal” doesn’t mean you’re fine, and why the answer is more weights, more protein and less cardio.
We train the people who actually walk through our doors - so we asked the questions you’ve been asking us.
Full chats dropping over the next few weeks. Keep an eye out.
