UPDATE:

I’ve had to make the incredibly difficult decision not to continue with the build of Get Set Swim School. Since finishing up at the end of September, I’ve realised just how much lighter I feel — how my stress has eased, how much happier I am, and how significantly my mental health has improved. As hard as it is to say, I need to listen to that. I need to put myself first, and that means I won’t be pursuing another facility.

This decision hasn’t come easily. Get Set Swim School has been one of the greatest chapters of my life. For nine years, it was more than a business — it was my passion, my purpose, and my pride. It gave me the flexibility I needed as a single mum raising three children, and I will always be grateful for that gift. I have cherished every child who walked through our doors, and it has been an honour to play even a small role in their confidence, their growth, and their love of the water.

I hold close the many beautiful connections and acquaintances I made along the way. To my incredible staff, past and present — thank you. Without you, Get Set Swim School would not have been what it was. Your dedication, hard work, and heart shaped our success, and I am deeply appreciative of each one of you.

I know this news will be disappointing for many in the community, and that weighs heavily on me. But the pressure and responsibility have been sitting solely on my shoulders, and facing roadblock after roadblock has taken its toll. In many ways, it feels like the universe is gently telling me it’s time to step into something new — even if I don’t yet know what that is.

This has been an extremely hard decision, but it is the right one for me. Thank you for the memories, the trust, the support, and the nine years that I will forever be proud of.

From Wednesday 1st October we need to dismantle everything and get it all out. Skip bins have been hired, I’m just desperate for some man power to please help me 🙏

Today marks the beginning of the end — our very last week of swimming lessons at 40E.

For 9 years and 4 months, I’ve had the privilege of teaching children (and even a few adults!) the life skill of swimming. What a journey it has been. We started under the Jump! franchise, navigated the uncertainty of its voluntary administration, and then took the leap to rebrand independently as Get Set.

Running a small business is HARD, but I couldn’t be prouder of what my incredible team and I have built for our community. From day one, my focus has always been community-minded — not profit-driven. This has been about creating a lifestyle, providing opportunities, and ensuring lessons remained affordable for the families who placed their trust in us.

I remain laser focused on bringing a new centre to life, and when that day comes, I truly hope the loyalty I’ve shown to our community will be returned.
