🏀 A little over 24 hours to go before we kick off the first of our 'Info Sessions' in the lead up to Summer Season 2026/27 - and as advertised night 1 is a 'full house'!
🏀 But - there will be 3-4 chairs free if anyone can't get to one of the other nights and needs to come tomorrow night!
🏀 Just comment below if this is you! 🏀

🏀 With a lot to get through - the night will start as close to 7.00pm as possible, to also leave room for questions during the night!
🏀 And - seats for the other 3 nights are going fast, with this Thursday, the 24th, already at 3/4 capacity, while the October dates, the 6th and 11th, are currently sitting at 1/2 full!
🏀 Well over 110 people have already registered - and looking like a record breaking Summer Season on the horizon - the BVABA looks forward to seeing everyone there!

🏀 𝗘𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀: 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹, 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿.

Over the past two days, our club has been buzzing as we wrapped up our Summer Season trials — and what a massive effort it’s been. With 𝟯𝟱 𝗷𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 preparing for Summer, organising and running trials of this scale is no small feat.

A huge thank you to our 𝗮𝗺𝗮𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 who stepped up to welcome families, guide players through drills, answer questions, assess placements, and support every child who hit the court. Your commitment ensures our players are placed where they can grow, develop, and thrive.

Special shout-out to our dedicated coaches who assisted our committee at trials: Angus, Emma, Cooper, Rowan, Ian, Jett, Kienan, Natalie, Asha, Kallen and Will. 💙🌟💙

This week at our Winter 2026 presentations, Echoes proudly acknowledged the incredible time and dedication of 𝗜𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱. Ian joined our committee as 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 in 2019, after already volunteering as a coach.

He was a key part of a pivotal turning point for our club — helping us navigate the challenges of COVID and supporting the growth of our junior player base from around 𝟵𝟬 𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟮𝟲𝟬 at our highest point.

Ian’s commitment has always been remarkable, especially considering he volunteered without having children in the club. His passion for basketball runs deep, and he brought a wealth of knowledge from many years involved in the game. That experience has shaped our coaching standards, strengthened our pathways, and supported the development of countless young players.

Ian stepped down as Vice President in June this year, marking an impressive 𝟳 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 on the Echoes committee. He continues to coach and serves as our official club photographer, capturing the moments that make Echoes special. 📷

🌟𝗝𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗢𝗥 𝗖𝗟𝗨𝗕 𝗔𝗖𝗛𝗜𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗗🌟

We are delighted to celebrate Kienan H**e as the recipient of the Winter 2026 Echoes Junior Club Achievement Award. What a wonderful achievement, Kienan! 👏🥳🌟

Established in the Summer 2023/2024 season, this award recognises a junior member who shows outstanding dedication, leadership, and a positive contribution to the Echoes Basketball Club community.

Kienan has been part of Echoes since U10s in Summer 2020/2021 and is a very passionate basketballer. Following in his older brother’s footsteps, he began assisting with coaching an U10 boys’ team alongside his mum, Heidi, in Winter 2024. Since then, he has continued to grow as a coach, progressing to U12 boys and celebrating his first premiership as a coach in Summer 2025/2026.

Over the past five seasons, Kienan has built wonderful connections with the young players he has coached, and we know they have loved having him involved. He is excited to continue coaching in the upcoming summer season.

Kienan has also generously volunteered at all of our Echoes fundraising mornings this year at the Barossa Farmers Market. These mornings involve cold, early starts, and Kienan has thrown himself into them with enthusiasm — especially enjoying taking orders and chatting with customers.

On top of his coaching and volunteering, Kienan is also involved in the referee program and is a Level 1C Referee. He received the Boys’ Encouragement Award for referees in Winter 2025 and commits up to five nights a week to refereeing in the Barossa Basketball competition, as well as weekends during the carnival season. That is an incredible commitment for a junior member.
