AARON KELLY IMPRESSES AT NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES

Aaron Kelly produced an outstanding performance at the National Development Series, finishing fifth on the player ladder an excellent individual result in a high-quality field.

Representing Team Red, Aaron remained composed when the pressure was on and his ability to stay focused, respond after difficult ends and remain fully engaged in each contest were highlights of his performance.

Team Red pushed Team Yellow all the way before narrowly going down, further underlining the quality and competitiveness of Aaron's campaign. He can take great confidence from an impressive series against some of the country's leading development bowlers.

STATE PENNANT FLAGS UNFURLED
Today we proudly unfurled the 2025/26 NSW State Pennant flags won by our Division 3 Women and Grade 6 Open sides.

Our Division 3 ladies produced a determined and consistent championship campaign, combining strongly across all rinks and handling the pressure of the State Finals to bring home a thoroughly deserved title.

The Grade 6 Open side remained undefeated throughout the championships, winning all three sectional matches at Lennox Head before continuing their outstanding run through the finals at Ballina. In the State Final against Seaforth, South trailed 37-45 after 45 ends before mounting a tremendous comeback to win 59-51.

Two outstanding campaigns and two thoroughly deserving State Pennant winners.

South Tamworth Bowling Club’s Aaron Kelly has produced an outstanding performance at the 2026 National Development Series, finishing fifth overall on the individual player ladder from a quality field of 28 of Australia’s leading pathway bowlers.

Aaron completed the series with seven wins from nine matches, scoring 140 shots and conceding 117 for an impressive +23 shot differential.

Partnering Kaytlyn Smith, Aaron won all six of his Para Mixed Pairs matches. This included their livestreamed 12–9 victory over Team Blue, where Aaron remained composed and positive under pressure as their opponents mounted a late comeback.

Aaron also recorded a commanding 21–9 victory in the Men’s Para Singles against Team Blue.

His Team Red side enjoyed an excellent series, defeating all three opposing teams:

Team Red 21–9 Team Green
Team Red 18–15 Team Blue
Team Red 21–12 Team Yellow

Team Red finished runner-up on 60 points just three behind champions Team Yellow, despite going through the round robin undefeated. Their final-round victory gave Yellow what Bowls Australia described as a “mighty scare” before the overall result was decided.

CHRIS & CAROL SELECTED FOR AUSTRALIAN SENIOR SIDES CHAMPIONSHIPS

South Tamworth Bowling Club is immensely proud to congratulate Chris Myers and Carol White on their selection in the BIOScapes NSW Senior Women’s Side for the 2026 Australian Senior Sides Championships.

The championships form part of The Nationals and will be contested at Osborne Park Bowling Club in Western Australia from 10–13 October, bringing together Australia’s finest senior bowlers.

Their selection caps another outstanding season for these two accomplished State representatives.
