Yaama ngindaay,

After much consideration, I have decided not to pursue putting together teams for this year's NSW First Nations Football Festival at Dubbo, due to the lateness of the registration packs and having the administration and logistical pressures to put together teams/admin/sponsors/accommodation in a short amount of time and my commitments to other volunteer projects, full time work, family and advisory commitments. My apologies to our loyal players/our sporting family. As much I absolutely love being in this space for everyone I am considering my own mental health and capability to provide at respectable level for our amazing team members and I dont think with such a short term I can provide 100%.

ANNOUNCEMENT - Finalists for National NAIDOC Sportsperson of the Year Award

The National NAIDOC Committee is thrilled to announce the finalists for this year's Sportsperson of the Year Award.

Kirrily Phillips

Kirrily Phillips, a proud Gumbaynggirr woman whose passion for sport, culture, and community is changing the game, literally.

Growing up playing football (soccer) as a young Koori girl, Kirrily rarely saw her culture reflected on the field.

That experience inspired Jiinda Magic, a First Nations women’s football team celebrating cultural pride, mental health, and empowerment.

Balancing motherhood, being a semi-professional athlete, Oral Health Clinical Supervisor at UQ, and dedicated mentor, Kirrily is creating culturally safe spaces where First Nations women feel proud, strong, and supported to succeed, on and off the pitch.

Her vision is bold, her impact is deep, and her legacy is growing. Kirrily Phillips leads with heart, purpose, and impact.

Congratulations Kirrily Phillips - Finalist, 2025 National NAIDOC Sportsperson of the Year Award.

All winners will be announced at the National NAIDOC Awards Ceremony, held in Boorloo (Perth), on Saturday 5th July, 2025.

🎉 Congratulations to Northies Junior Xavier Graf! 🐼

A massive shoutout to Northies U14s Junior Xavier Graf on his selection in the 2025 Community State Youth Championship Indigenous Squad!

Xavier will represent Northern NSW Football in the inaugural all-Indigenous team at the Community State Youth Championships, held 7-11 July at Lake Macquarie. This is a huge milestone, giving First Nations players the chance to proudly represent their culture on a state level.

We’re incredibly proud to see Xavier take this opportunity and inspire others in our community. Well done! 👏
