ronaldo finally broke the curse but does it actually count? 👀

Cristiano Ronaldo has officially scored his FIRST-EVER FIFA World Cup knockout stage goal! History was made in Toronto during Portugal’s intense Round of 32 clash against Croatia.

After Ivan Perišić put Croatia ahead, CR7 thought he had equalised minutes earlier, only for his goal to be dramatically ruled out for offside. However, a crucial VAR review awarded Portugal a penalty in the 68th minute, allowing the 41 year old legend to step up and coolly slot home the penalty to tie the game 1-1. The historic spot-kick officially breaks Ronaldo’s career-long World Cup knockout stage drought across six tournaments!

Meanwhile, superfan IShowSpeed had a legendary travel disaster trying to see it live. His first commercial flight out of San Francisco was canceled just hours before kickoff, prompting him to desperately plead for a private jet on X (Twitter). While he managed to book a second flight, that one was also canceled due to a cracked windshield. Cut to this insane reaction - it looks like Speed had to resort to a watch party to witness his idol make history.

chat yall think that penalty was soft? 👇

as the away team 😭

The USA are through to the FIFA World Cup Round of 16 after a dramatic 2-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco. Folarin Balogun opened the scoring just before halftime to put the USMNT ahead but the striker went from hero to zero after being handed a straight red card in the 61st minute, leaving the hosts down to 10 men.

Despite the Bosnia-Herzegovina pressure, a stunning Malik Tillman free-kick golazo in the 82nd minute doubled the advantage and sealed the win for Mauricio Pochettino’s side. The USA will now face Belgium in the next round of the World Cup knockouts.

football culture is just different bro 😭

After witnessing a dramatic 2-1 comeback win against DR Congo in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Round of 32, England fans in Atlanta weren’t ready for the day to end.

Instead of heading home after Harry Kane’s late double saved the Three Lions at the Atlanta Stadium, travelling England supporters took over a local MLB game, turning the Atlanta Braves stadium into their official World Cup afterparty.

Safe to say the local Atlanta baseball fans had no idea what hit them when the football chants started ringing out across the ballpark.

ja morant to portland is either a ring or a netflix untold episode no in between 💀

In case you’ve been completely locked into the World Cup and missed it, the Memphis Grizzlies just officially traded Ja Morant away to the Portland Trail Blazers for Jerami Grant and Kris Murray because they were just entirely fed up with his off-court antics.

When Novig dropped the graphic of this brand new look starting 5 and asked “who’s stopping this team?”, fans online immediately started debating whether the talent outweighs the risk. Portland’s front office is taking a massive risk here, but we honestly think this team is going to be incredibly exciting to watch.

We aren’t expecting a turnaround next season but this could be the exact reset Ja needs. New influences and a culture completely removed from the Memphis microscope.

pov: you’re in a packed bar watching match-point pens and the worst possible thing happens 💀

An unbelievable moment for Paraguay football fans at a watch party, who were pushed to the absolute limit during one of the biggest upsets in FIFA World Cup history.

As La Albirroja battled four-time world champions Germany in a tense, sudden-elimination penalty shootout, a bar full of packed fans experienced every fan’s worst nightmare. Right before the deciding kick, the bar’s projector suddenly cut out. We actually translated the notice on the screen for you - it wasn’t a subscription expiry, the bar staff literally just forgot to touch the remote, causing the projector’s “Automatic Sleep Mode” timer to trigger right at the worst possible millisecond.

The entire venue was left in complete limbo, missing the historical moment German defender Jonathan Tah skied his shot, and José Canale stepped up to score the winner past Manuel Neuer. By the time the TV feed finally cut back on, the squad was already celebrating and the bar absolutely erupted into pure chaos.

Paraguay has officially made history, knocking out Germany in a World Cup penalty shootout for the first time ever to advance to the Round of 16.

chat what yall doing if your local’s TV sleep timer cut outs like this? 😭👇

bro really said this one’s for gabriel 😭

The 2026 FIFA World Cup has witnessed its first big knockout upset, and Germany defender Jonathan Tah is at the center of the heartbreak. In a chaotic Round of 32 clash at Boston Stadium, Paraguay pulled off a monumental 4-3 sudden-death penalty shootout upset after finishing 1-1 through extra time.

The match was an absolute nightmare for Tah. After seeing his apparent extra-time match-winner controversially disallowed by VAR for a foul on Paraguayan goalkeeper Orlando Gill, the match went to spot kicks - where Germany suffered their first-ever World Cup penalty shootout defeat in history.

With the pressure turned up to a maximum in sudden death, Tah stepped up for Germany’s sixth penalty, only to blast the ball completely over the crossbar. Football fans on social media are already drawing instant, viral comparisons to the infamous “ova di bar” penalty meme, calling Tah’s skied effort an absolute duplicate.

Following the massive miss, José Canale ice-coldly converted his penalty to secure a historic victory for La Albirroja, punching their ticket to the Round of 16 in Philadelphia.

just realised i recorded the exact moment giannis chose the heat 😭

An unscripted moment from NBA All-Star Weekend has taken on a whole new meaning following today’s blockbuster trade news.

Following the blockbuster trade first reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania sending two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat in exchange for Tyler Herro and draft assets, NBA historians on X (formerly Twitter) have uncovered an insane easter egg. As basketball analysts begin breaking down how a Giannis and Bam Adebayo frontcourt will operate in South Beach, fans on X (formerly Twitter) have been looking back at a prophetic moment from earlier this year.

During the AT&T Slam Dunk Contest, Miami Heat rookie forward Keshad Johnson electrified the arena by dancing on the court for his eventual trophy-winning performance - a moment the official NBA broadcast famously captured alongside a clip of Giannis mirroring the energy on the baseline.

However, it turns out Pedestrian SPORT accidentally captured the viral moment while on the ground for Los Angeles All-Star Weekend 2026. While tracking Johnson’s entrance from our baseline angle, the camera roll reveals the Greek Freak lingering on the left-hand corner of the frame, locked into the Johnson’s energy months before a trade was ever made public. Looking closely at the very end of the clip, Giannis’ facial expression says it all as he immediately steps forward looking to greet and dap up the Heat rookie after his massive dunk.

and she dedicated the love story to george kittle as a special request 😭

Tight End University just delivered the biggest pop culture moment of the summer after Taylor Swift just did a completely unannounced surprise performance in Nashville. Taking the stage at the star-studded “Tight Ends & Friends” concert, the music icon shocked a room full of the league’s top players to support her fiancé Travis Kelce. Before launching into “Love Story,” Swift openly admitted to the crowd that the legendary Love Story track was a very special request made directly by 49ers superstar and TEU co-founder George Kittle himself.

The annual three-day Nashville summit has completely taken over Vanderbilt University’s FirstBank Stadium this week, bringing together over 90 elite tight ends including Kyle Pitts, T.J. Hockenson and Trey McBride to bond and train before July training camps kick off.

did yall expect taylor to pop out for this? 👇

.. ofc she didn’t when pedestrian sport was on the ground at TEU in SF for Super Bowl LX 💔
