One thing I've noticed is that they don't rely on willpower alone. They book their classes in advance, arrange to meet a friend, choose activities they genuinely enjoy and accept that not every session has to be their best. Some days it's a full-length class, other days it's a shorter session. They understand that taking some action is far more powerful than waiting until they feel motivated.

Pilates has reached an interesting point in its evolution. Over the past decade, demand has driven rapid growth, with new studios opening at an unprecedented rate and reformer classes becoming a familiar sight at gyms and studios across Australia. Greater access to Pilates is undoubtedly a positive development, yet as the market matures, we're beginning to see a shift in what people value most.

Ever wondered why your instructor keeps telling you to 'use your glutes'? There's a very good reason! The gluteus maximus is one of the most important muscles for strength, stability and everyday movement. Here's how it works and where you'll feel it in your classes.

Some of the best moments don't always happen during class. They happen as you're putting your shoes on afterwards, catching up with someone you've come to know, sharing a laugh or meeting someone new. Those connections are a special part of being in our community, and we'd love to see even more of them.
On Thursday 9 July, we'll be introducing Class & Coffee. After the 9.30am Aerobics class, we'll head across to OOPs Café (138 Sailors Bay Rd) for an informal coffee together. Whether you can stay for five minutes or an hour, everyone is welcome. Even if you're not able to make the class that day, we'd still love you to join us for coffee.
Each month, Class & Coffee will follow a different class so everyone has the chance to be part of it. We hope you'll come along and enjoy getting to know the people who make Flex Body such a welcoming place.

Don't stop because it gets a little bit hard. You can do hard things.
If you've spent any time on social media lately, you may have noticed something refreshing. The conversation is changing.
Instead of chasing the latest diet or trying to turn back the clock, more people are asking a different question: "How do I stay active, capable and independent for the next 20, 30 or 40 years?"
It's called healthspan. While lifespan is how long you live, healthspan is how long you stay healthy enough to enjoy life. Can you carry the shopping? Pick up your grandchildren? Travel, garden, play golf, tennis, get down to the floor and back up again without thinking twice?
One of the most interesting shifts is that the answer isn't found in expensive gadgets or wellness fads. The research continues to point to the basics: regular strength training, good balance, mobility, walking and enough movement to challenge your body each week. In other words, the things that quietly make everyday life easier.
The good news? You don't need to overhaul your life. Every Pilates, Yoga, Strength, Barre or Aerobics class is another investment in your future self.
The benefits extend well beyond how you feel today, helping to maintain strength, confidence and independence as you age.
We think that's the best fitness trend of all.

Exercise trends have changed dramatically over the years, but one thing has stayed the same: moving your body matters. These days, it's less about punishing workouts and more about building strength, staying mobile, improving balance and feeling good enough to keep doing the things you love for years to come.
