Right now we have baby witches positioning themselves as seasoned practitioners because they have a platform, confidence, access to endless information and ChatGPT ready to fill whatever gaps remain and build mediocre businesses along side it.

You can learn correspondences in an afternoon.
You can research a tradition.
You can make beautiful educational content.
You can pump out resources

But a good practitioner needs time to discover that something you confidently taught five years ago was wrong. You need workings that fail. Beliefs that change. Consequences you didn’t anticipate. You need enough life behind you to become suspicious of your own certainty.

That’s what I mean when I talk about the first Saturn return. Around 29, Saturn doesn’t magically hand you a certificate declaring you wise. Plenty of people make it through their Saturn return and remain absolute idiots.

But there is something to be said for having completed that first major cycle, especially in the witchcraft space and age of disinformation.

The New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo arrives 13 August 2026, and this one isn’t exactly here to stroke your ego. 🦁🌑

As the first eclipse since the lunar nodes moved into Leo and Aquarius, this South Node eclipse begins a new 18-month chapter around identity, visibility, creativity, leadership and our relationship with being seen.

Leo usually wants the spotlight, but the South Node asks a much less comfortable question: how much of who you are has become a performance for other people?

Pay attention to where you’re chasing validation, protecting an outdated identity, taking criticism personally, shrinking yourself to avoid judgement, or continuing something simply because people have come to expect it from you.

And no, I wouldn’t be rushing to manifest under this one. Eclipse energy is better observed than forced, particularly when the South Node is involved. Watch what gets exposed, what loses its grip and what you suddenly realise you’re completely fu***ng done with.

Sometimes the reset isn’t becoming someone new.
