Wow, what a terrific day for the 9th annual Greenkeeper’s Charity Bowls Day at Revesby Greens 🤩
100+ attendees enjoyed a sunny afternoon 🌞 of bowls 🧿 beers 🍻 & banter 🤭 followed by a very successful raffle with all proceeds from the day going to the Prostate Cancer Foundation
Yesterday’s takings (with final figures TBC), bolstered by a very generous $500 donation from the main club, look to be around the $4,000 mark and will take the 9 year total sent off to the foundation to well over $30,000 💵 👏🏼
Craig has garnered wonderful support from his major sponsors (First Class Tree Service & Glass Financial 🙏🏻) and had a myriad of helpers ensuring a smoothly run day 💪🏼
Craig & Ed had the greens running superbly👌🏼, the bar staff were kept busy 😉 the food was plentiful & delicious 👨🏼🍳 and we had plenty of Workers’ Club directors and staff involved in the day 👊🏼
Thank you to everyone who supported the day ….. see you all again next year 👋🏼

Monday morning saw four of our members head across the Georges River 🚙 to proudly represent our club at Gymea’s annual charity fours tournament 💪🏼
Fay, Rhonda, Ellie & Clare joined in the fun 🥳 and competition 👩🏻👩🏼 as three full greens of lady bowlers battled it out for prizemoney💰& bragging rights 😊
A dominant win in game 1 💪🏼 had our girls in a strong position🤞🏼but a narrow loss in the 2nd game put paid to their hopes of a podium finish (and, unfortunately, they got beaten on a count back for best score in the 1st game) 🤦🏻
Wonderful to see our Workers’ girls out and about again, making new friends 🤝🏼 and showing the bowls world what we’re about 👏🏼

While we have your attention 😁 - don’t forget that the Mixed Fours championship final will be played at Revesby Greens tomorrow from 12:30 🏆
Betty Davidson, Leanne Kelly, Ray Fitzpatrick & Laurie Wilson will take on Clare Chown, Leanne Oehlman, Peter Chown & Darryl Oehlman in what promises to be a very entertaining match 🤩
Team Wilson finished too strong for the defending champs in a tense semi final last week 💪🏼, while team Oehlman have had to pull out all stops to sn**ch victory in each of their games 😅
Will the relaxed attitude among four non related teammates overcome the dual husband & wife combination, or will familiarity breed success? 🤷🏻♂️

Craig would like to see a few more people get their name down to support his famous charity day at Revesby Greens on Friday 7 August 📝
It’s a couple of hours (starting around noon) of pretty casual bowls, beers & banter, including a feed and the opportunity of winning one of a plethora of prizes in the massive raffle …… and, best of all, the proceeds go to the prostrate cancer foundation 💙
Our club mixed fours championship semi finals will be contested at Revesby Greens from 12:30 this afternoon 🏆
After some nail biting finishes in last week’s quarter finals, these two games promise to be equally epic 👨🏻👨🏽
Social bowls is on too, so what better place to be on a sunny Saturday arvo 🌞 - playing, watching or just enjoying a feed 🥗 & liquid refreshment 🥂 🍻

Plenty of Workers’ players out and about on a rainy Friday 🌧️
Cabra Bowls’ 🐜 0/50 pairs tournament attracted a red hot field 🔥 including 2 1/2 teams from Revesby Greens
Tony Finneran/Amir Kiyani, Ray Fitzpatrick/Steve Jessep & Peter Chown (playing with Grandviews’ Phil Means) all proudly represented our club in this prestigious event 👊🏼
The combination of inclement weather ☔️ and really strong opposition 😳 made getting amongst the prizemoney 💰 a difficult proposition (all of the placegetters were zone/region/state representatives in various categories 😬), but the experience gained by our guys competing at this level can only be of benefit going forward - keep it up fellas 💪🏼
Another really well run event by Ben & Carl at Cabra Bowls - thank you guys 🙏🏻 ….. unfortunately, you can’t do much about the weather 🤷🏻♂️

The club is incredibly proud of Peter Shean and Peter Chown for their outstanding performance in the Reserve Pairs Finals in Dubbo. While the results didn’t go their way, they played exceptional bowls throughout the event and represented our club with pride, determination, and sportsmanship. Congratulations to you both on a fantastic achievement—we’re proud of you! 👏💚🎉
