4 months postpartum & feeling so good 🥹 My goal from here is to rebuild my strength and fitness 💪🏽 As a working mum there are ALWAYS going to be things to do & you’re most likely going to be tired 😂 BUT I aim to get in a weighted workout at least 4x a week because it ensures I am going to be able to carry Miss Lyla for longer while also protecting my bone density, posture & mental health 💯 I show up for myself so I can show up for her ✨

“The weight will fall off when you breastfeed.” 🤱 This is so harmful to say as it’s not the case for many. As is saying things like “you’ll bounce back because you’re fit.” Once again, not always the case ♥️ There is so much pressure on mums postpartum especially first time mums learning how to take care of this little human while their whole life changes overnight 🥹 I am grateful for my body and tbh I’m pleasantly shocked at how it responded to pregnancy & postpartum 💯 Breastfeeding can burn an extra 400-700 calories per day but the hunger is so real 😂 I easily can eat over 3000 cals daily. When sleep deprived, moving less & battling with hunger (and if not prepared - poor food choices) it can definitely be a period of weight gain 🫶🏽 Which is totally understandable!! Whatever stage you’re at in your PP journey, please be kind to yourself! Every journey is different.
My key focuses are: hydration 3L+ daily, moving every day (workout or a walk with Lyla & Bronco 🐕), protein at a minimum 130g year round ✔️ these things help me feel my best 💪🏽

If I’m gonna be tired anyway, I may as well take care of myself mentally & physically ♥️ Even just 15 minutes of movement is better than nothing 🥹 I am grateful that we have a home gym but even if we didn’t I would still have ordered dumbbells for postpartum or done home workouts like many of my mum clients do 🌎 Shout out to my Mumma clients inspiring me to move my body 💪🏽 I feel so much better when I get a workout in even when I don’t want to 😅

Weekend workouts 🫶🏽 Ross took Lyla in the gym to watch me finish my workout today & it made me think how cool it is that she will grow up seeing us be active 💪🏽 A mum focused on getting stronger to carry her on adventures, eating foods I love & getting fitter for life - not picking myself apart or commenting on other’s bodies like I grew up seeing adults do ♥️ We have the power to make such a big impact on the newer generations, to break toxic cycles. That is so special 🥹
