What a fabulous weekend we had at Curtain Call Competition, sharing the stage with so many incredible studios!

We are beyond proud of our students — not only for the way they performed, but for the way they held themselves both on and off the stage. The support, encouragement and sportsmanship shown throughout the entire weekend is something we are incredibly proud of. 🤍

And to top off an already amazing weekend, MF was awarded the SPORTSMANSHIP AWARD 🥹

This one is so incredibly special to us. Awards like this represent so much of what we strive to teach our dancers — to be kind, respectful, supportive and humble, regardless of results.

What a journey it has been watching these four grow from the little dancers they once were into the incredible young women and performers they are today.

So many years of classes, rehearsals, competitions, costumes, laughs, tears, achievements and memories — and today, they stepped onto the competition stage with MF for the very last time.

Jaime, Heidi, Bronte & Lexi, we could not be prouder of you. The dancers you are is only a small part of what makes us proud — it’s the young women you have become and the legacy you leave behind for every dancer coming up behind you.

What a journey. What a chapter. What a privilege it has been to be part of it. 🥹

BREAKING THE MISCONCEPTION OF COMPETITIVE DANCE 💜

Competitive dance can sometimes be misunderstood.

From the outside, it can look like sparkly costumes, makeup, hours of classes and rehearsals, long competition weekends, trophies, places and winning.

But behind all of that is so much more.

We don’t compete for the trophies.
We don’t compete for the places.
And we certainly don’t measure success by what we bring home.

We compete for growth.

For the confidence that comes from stepping onto a stage when you’re nervous.

For the commitment of turning up to class week after week and working towards something bigger than yourself.

For learning how to work as a team, support one another and understand that every person plays an important role.

For the discipline that comes from training, rehearsing, taking corrections and continuing to work when something doesn’t come easily.

For learning how to win with humility and lose with grace.

For learning resilience — that one result, one performance or one adjudicator’s opinion does not define you.

For the friendships made in the studio and backstage, the memories created together and the feeling of knowing you gave everything you had.

For learning to celebrate your teammates just as loudly as you celebrate yourself.

Some weekends we come home with trophies.
Some weekends we don’t.

But every single time, we come home with something far more valuable — stronger dancers, stronger teammates and stronger young people.

At MF Dance Studio, competitions are simply another opportunity to learn, grow, perform and become better than we were yesterday.

The costumes are beautiful.
The trophies are exciting.
The results are rewarding.

But they were never the reason we started. 💜

Training excellence. Nurturing hearts.

Girlhood looks a lot like this. Holding hands, lifting each other up and growing side by side. Dance is just where it happens. 💜

What an incredible weekend for our Performance Squad! 💜

We are so incredibly proud of every single student who took to the stage. Not only did they perform with confidence, passion and determination, but they represented MF Dance Studio beautifully both on and off the stage.

It was such a wonderful weekend sharing the stage with so many talented studios and celebrating the love of dance together.

A very special shout-out to our 5 & Under and 10 & Under teams for achieving a clean sweep across the weekend! 🏆 What an outstanding achievement!
