Australian Schoolboys Squad for New Zealand Tour

The Australian Schools Rugby Union is pleased to announce the Australian Schoolboys squad selected for the 2026 New Zealand Tour.

Twenty-six players have been selected from New South Wales, Queensland, the Australian Capital Territory and Victoria, drawn from eighteen schools across the four states and territories. The squad assembles at the Sydney Academy of Sport, Narrabeen, on Wednesday 23 September for a preparation camp and a match against the Rugby Australia Academy U18s at Knox Grammar School, before departing for New Zealand on Saturday 26 September.

The touring party will be based at St Peter’s School, Cambridge, and will play two Tests at St Paul’s Collegiate School, Hamilton — against New Zealand Schools on Wednesday 30 September and New Zealand Māori U18 on Sunday 4 October.

The Australian Schools Rugby Union congratulates the selected players and thanks their schools, state and territory unions, families and coaches for the preparation and support that has brought them to this point.

A huge call-out to Waiara Ellis, who will make her debut start at flyhalf for the Wallaroos in their Test against the Black Ferns tomorrow in Auckland. 🇦🇺🏉

Waiara was a member of the all-conquering 2023 Australian Schoolgirls Sevens team, winners of the Global Youth Sevens on the Sunshine Coast, and also won the Australian Schools Sevens Championships with NSW 1 that same year.

From Australian Schoolgirls to the Wallaroos. A wonderful achievement and another great example of the Australian Schools Rugby pathway.
