Cooks River parkrun

This week 271 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 49 were first timers and 28 recorded new Personal Bests. Representatives of 24 different clubs took part.

It is with deep sadness that we share the sudden passing of Alexander Britton at the age of 38 whilst out riding his bike over the weekend.
Alex was a true parkrun stalwart and a familiar face to so many of us. An expat from the UK, he fully embraced our local community, clocking up an incredible 277 parkruns—including 70 memorable mornings right here at Cooks River.More than just a runner, Alex embodied the true spirit of parkrun with 132 volunteer credits. He was always ready to give back, cheer others on, and support the event. His last run with us was just on 11/04/26, finishing in a classic 27:28.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends. Rest in peace, Alex. You will be deeply missed on the start line. 🏃‍♂️✨

ATTENTION PLEASE! 🙏
A two-tone grey ladies running jacket went missing this morning.
It’s no doubt been picked up accidentally but it happens to also have the owners car key in the pocket so we’d really like to get it back to them as soon as possible.
Please comment or message if you have the jacket so we can arrange a reunion 😊
