Emotional intelligence is often talked about as if it’s something you either have or don’t: a fixed trait, baked in from birth. But the truth is far more empowering: EQ is a skill set, built the same way any other skill is built; through awareness, practice, and a willingness to sit with discomfort instead of running from it. The eight traits we are exploring today: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, social skills, optimism, flexibility, and strong communication; aren’t a checklist of who you need to become. They are a mirror for who you already are, in moments you might not have noticed.

What makes emotional intelligence so powerful isn’t that it makes life easier, it’s that it makes you steadier when life isn’t. It’s the difference between reacting and choosing. Between being swept up by a feeling and being informed by it. As you swipe through these eight traits, don’t ask “do I have this?, ask “where have I already shown this, even in a small way?” Because growth doesn’t start with what’s missing. It starts with recognising what’s already there, and giving it room to grow.

Which ones of these are you already living?

Celebration of Wellness, Community & Connection

What happens when driven women step away from their to-do lists, their laptops, and their responsibilities and simply show up for themselves? Magic.

That’s exactly what unfolded at the recent wellness event by BWB, BK Australia & She Magazine (part of the Inspire & Unwind Program), a warm and vibrant gathering that brought together women from all walks of life to connect, reflect, and rise together.

At its heart, this event was about one thing: permission. Permission to pause, to be honest about where you are on your wellness journey, and to find strength in knowing you’re not walking it alone. Attendees came together to network and share their stories; not the polished, highlight-reel versions, but the real ones. The kind that uplift, inspire, and remind us that every step forward counts, no matter how small.

The speakers brought authenticity, heart, and depth to the afternoon. Each one opened up about their own wellness journey; the motivations that keep them going, the challenges they have navigated, and the mindset shifts that have made all the difference.

Program Co-Director Swaran Singh Rajput spoke with genuine warmth about her passion for community-building and why creating spaces where women can gather, exhale, and feel seen is something she holds close to her heart. She also conducted a very relaxing and peaceful meditation session.

BWB Founder Tiya Gorain reminded the room of something powerful: that when women are given a platform, the ripple effect is extraordinary. She spoke with conviction about why creating that platform isn’t just important, it’s essential, and why BWB exists to do exactly that, one woman at a time.

Core team member Rashmi Chauhan brought a deeply personal perspective, sharing how health and wellness isn’t just a professional philosophy for her, it’s a way of life she has chosen for herself and her family. Her words resonated in the room, a reminder that true wellness begins at home, in the everyday choices we make for the people we love most.

Of course, nourishment came in many forms. Delicious food by Sony Sodhi, Delhi Heights Indian Restaurant & Function Centre, kept conversations flowing, and the atmosphere was elevated by the wonderful live performance of singer Kedarnath Pagaddinnimath, whose voice added a memorable dimension to the afternoon.

As the day came to a close, it was clear that something deeper had taken root. New friendships had formed. Old ones had deepened. Women had walked in carrying the weight of their week and walked out a little lighter; armed with inspiration, connection, and a renewed sense of what’s possible.

This is what Business With Balance stands for. Not just success on paper, but wholeness; the kind that comes when ambition and wellbeing walk hand in hand.
