Email: [email protected] It's a vibrant little club, enjoyed by young and old!

Established in 1926, Marrickville Croquet Club is located in a picturesque corner of Marrickville Park, adjacent to a much beloved franjapani tree. No better place to be on a summers day or evening (yes- we have night croquet), sitting on the verandah of our historic clubhouse or knocking some balls around the lawn with your friends...

Let there be light! Thank you IW Council and Councillor Mat Howard for your support for the club!

Over 40 years ago Marrickville Croquet Club made history as the first croquet club in NSW to have a court light. It was a bit past its use by and was just replaced by Inner West Council. Tonight we had our official lights on event! Members gathered at sunset to cheer as the light went on for evening play! Hooray for IW Council and hooray for croquet!

Well it's generally a joy to welcome Diane for a game of AC. Today is the return Gold Pennant match. Marrickville won yesterday's test, played at Wollongong, so we suspect Di was attempting to undermine the continuation of our campaign! She looks surprised 🤔.

All 3 Makara teams, the Meteors, Marvels and Mavericks, have been out successfully this week. Yesterday the Meteors had a trip to Coogee, sealing that test 4/1. One of the games was a timed out tie, with the result determined by a coin toss. Not the best way to win a game, but probably better than losing that way! Thankfully the match result was not determined by the toss, which may be some consolation for Cooge.
Well done Meteors!

Today's Makara test was the Marrickville Marvels vs Strathfield. Half of the team was indeed marvellous, with Clyth and Andrew (below) both winning their singles games to seal the test 4/1. This was Andrew's debut in competitive singles, after warming up with some doubles, so it was an exceptional result! Well done Andrew!
Thank you also to Peter Sinclair for refereeing and Strathfield for their always exceptional hospitality.

It was a great session on the lawn this afternoon with the new swing trainer, built by Peter Sinclair. The swing trainer provides kinaesthetic feedback on a player's stroke, to understand the feel and develop muscle memory to emulate when out of the the trainer. The mirror also provides useful visual feedback on the nature of the swing. Funnily enough everyone was "practically perfect" at 7 yard shots in the trainer, a bit less than perfect out of it (but don't we won't tell our oppos that!). Thank you Peter for an excellent session and new contribution to the club!

Yesterday the Marrickville Mavericks welcomed the Pelicans for a Makara match. The CRCC Pelicans played well but the well seasoned Mavericks were true to their name and pulled off some remarkable shots, taking the test a convincing 4/1. The Mavericks are currently top of the 2026 R Block. Well done team!

A lovely extension to the local cafe across the park from the club. The Marrickville Park General Store has been beautifully refurbished. It's great to see it restored to its original use. Pop in one day!
