1st in Qualifying. New National Record.
Naomi Johnson has set a powerful new benchmark for Philippine quarter-miling, clocking 52.10 seconds to top the 400m heats at the 1st Asian U23 Athletics Championships and qualify 1st overall for the final.

Pending ratification, her performance shatters Angel Watson's previous national mark of 53.72 from 2024, lowering the standard by over a second and ranking 5th in Asia for 2026.

A standout talent born in 2004 and coached by Arman Gino Hall, Johnson brings exceptional baseline speed as the youngest member of the 4x100m relay pool, backed by personal bests of 11.43s (100m), 22.94s (200m), 51.79s (400m lifetime best), and a 6.14m long jump.

Congratulations Naomi! Time to go for gold in that final.

Eron Mejia's Strong Lead-Up to Nationals

As a flashback to the end of May, Eron Mejia of Pampanga delivered a standout performance at the United Olongapo Meet in Subic, a fantastic event organized for years by Coach Mike Sionzon.

Racing just two weeks before the national championships as a crucial lead-up, Eron clocked a new personal best of 10.9 seconds (hand-timed).

Powered by Mega Sardines, he placed second in his race and secured the overall bronze medal, finishing just behind Justin Lambino's winning time of 10.8 seconds.

Proudly representing Twentees Athletics on that occasion, seeing how that momentum carried Eron straight into the Philippine Nationals makes for a fantastic throwback.

Powered by Mega Sardines, he has since signed on with Pinoy Athletics, officially representing the team in the grueling decathlon at the national open.
