The finals campaign for our MD1 & MD4 teams has begun! Each team finished 4th in their respective competitions and will play in the Elimination Finals this Sunday.

A massive congratulations goes out to Reece Mccooey-Traynor on finally bringing up the ton for the Goannas. If there’s ever been a player we should be glad is running around in the blue and gold and not against us, it’s Reece. Since making the code switch from rugby league, Reece has proved he’s more than up to the task of keeping Sydney’s AFL players honest with bone crushing hits week in and week out for a few years now. With a club best and fairest to his name, Reece has been an excitement machine for the club, playing through all positions in recent years and somehow finding his way to the big sticks for some cracking goals. When he’s not making opposition players regret every life decision that brought them to line up against him on a Saturday, Reece is usually helping out with a job around the club or is just around for a chat being a good bloke. We’re looking forward to plenty more highlights and hard hits from Reece for the rest of the season and the years to come.

A massive congratulations to Taigen Dubbelde who joins the century club!

Taigen has been a versatile player for the Goannas over the years. He’s at home anywhere on the field whether it’s kicking goals or stopping them and with his voice he is always helping out his teammates.

Unfortunately, a forfeit in under 20s will push back the start of our Sponsors and Past Players day until our WD2 match at 11.20am.

Not to worry though, we still have a big day planned. It just means you’ll get a sleep in to charge your brain before trivia!
