Our program does its best work with adults who are at a point in their life where they have had enough of poor quality health and fitness, are unhappy with their bodies and are ready to raise their standards. Craig Shanahan built an award-winning cafe with 6% vision. Legally blind. Didn't stop him. He's coming to GOPT to share the story AND run a blind taste-testing experience on the night — no cues, just guessing, tasting, and a lot of laughing at each other.

Nobody warns you about this part.

After 30, your body starts losing 3–8% of its muscle mass every decade — and it accelerates hard after 60 as muscle mass decreases even faster

Most people just accept it as "getting older."

Here's the part that matters: most people will lose about 30% of their muscle mass over their lifetime (Harvard Health) — and less muscle means more falls, more fractures, more days where your body just doesn't cooperate.

But muscle loss isn't a life sentence. Strength training is the one lever you can actually pull.

Most people don't fail because the program's wrong. They fail because they quit right before it starts working.

Compliance isn't sexy. It's not the highlight reel. It's showing up on the day you don't feel like it — again and again — until the pattern breaks.

Your brain will tell you to stop. It'll tell you "this isn't working," "you've tried before," "maybe this just isn't for you." That's not truth. That's just the old pattern fighting to survive.

Break through that point and something shifts. Not just in your body — in how you see yourself.

Nobody talks about the reps before the rep. The ones that don't count on paper but count for everything else — the ones that teach your body what "almost" feels like so it knows what to do when it's finally right.
