Race Spec Tuning

Went up to the Ourika Valley today for a scenic day outside of the Marrakesh medina and saw this mule on the way back. No idea what it was, but given the millions of Dacia (and more than a few Renault)…

Next stop Marrakech, Morocco. Going to spend the week here and enjoy a stay in a Riad in the heart of the historic medina. Been here a few days now and although it’s damn hot, it has been a bit of an eye opener and thoroughly enjoyable.

So who is going to put their name down for one of these bad boys? 🤷‍♂️🫶🎊🤩🥰👌✅🎉

A huge thanks to Renault UK for their hospitality at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. It was a wonderful opportunity to see the R5 Turbo 3E once again and see it run up the Goodwood hillclimb.

I never really believed that those high speed trains TGV/Eurostar in France actually clocked 300 km/h, but connect on the Eurostar wifi and you can track the speed!

After Le Mans I headed to Paris on the train and caught a flight to Debrovnik to meet up with my daughter who flew over from London where she lives now.

Debrovnik was really pretty but fully overun by tourists, I only spent the night but will go back at a quieter time of year. I picked up a Renault Talisman (diesel) for the Balkan safari and headed off to Mostar going the long way along the Croation coast which was such a pretty drive.

Despite its age and the 155550km on the clock the Talisman proved to be a comfortable and torquey cruiser with plenty of room.

When we arrived in Mostar our hosts from Villa Cardack offered to drive the Talisman down through the narrow streets of the old town and parked it in his garage for us. I’m so glad he did, there was only a few centimetres between us and the walls in several places.

Mostar itself was amazing and should definitely make your travel list. Such a beautiful historic place, unfortunately with a dark and sad recent history - view the pictorial museum for an insight into the effects of the war and genocide 😢

I’ve always wanted to stand on the grid at Le Mans and see all the cars lined up down the side of the grid. Well I was lucky enough to do that the other day. Another big tick off of my bucket list.

A couple of more colours were on display at the Renault stand at Le Mans. Despite multiple requests leading up to and at the event I wasn’t permitted access to get a closer look. Thankfully the team at Renault UK have been very kind which will make my trip to Goodwood later this week something to truly remember.

In the meantime I’m enjoying the delights of Mostar in Bosnia.

Welcome to Le Mans Classic 2026. I’ve had a few data issues so I’ve got a bit of catching up to do.

I finally got chance to see the Renault R5 Turbo 3E. It looks amazing in the flesh, unique, modern and very much like a big toy car.
