If you want more ‘shelf’ you want to lean back, not forwards on the abduction machine 🍑
This is the problem with fitness advice for women
There’s just enough truth here to make this sound feasible
Restricting yourself to eating rabbit food all day after eating a pizza? Bad idea
Women storing more of their body fat around their hips? True (but that doesn’t mean a pizza is just magically stored for your potential future baby ffs)
Women having to contend with issues that might reduce BMR and TDEE and make being in a calorie deficit harder? True
But this whole “women are built different and only I have the answer” type of coaching is predatory as f**k
You’ll generally find it harder as a woman to eat a whole pizza and lose fat than a man because you’re probably a lot lighter than he is
Less total mass, less specifically muscle mass and less caloric demands on your body day to day = less energy expenditure
So that 1200 calorie pizza is going to leave you with f**k all calories left for the day
Whereas for example a 90kg active man like myself who loses fat at 2700 cals a day.. less of an issue
It’s not a magic “oh I’m a man that pizza is now energy and muscle… tough luck ladies!” 🤦🏻♂️
Fat loss is always a game of calories in / calories out and the rules don’t change
Its simply the tactics that allow you to win that do
The Leg Extension is honestly the best exercise you can do for bigger quads
And if you aren’t setting it up like a silly billy it’s great for knee health too
So let’s sort it out yea?

Should you Hinge or Scoop when you Hip Thrust? 🍑
I was a staunch Hinge only coach for years
Because I found the hinge method just worked super well for me
So given it made sense and worked for me
I exclusively taught that method to my clients even if they didn’t gel with it
Then I saw talking in his content about how much he loves the scoop method and decided to try it again
And I hated it lol
BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY
SOME of my clients LOVED it
in fact one client could finally do hip thrusts and feel comfortable again after 6 months of trying and failing with the hinge
So now I teach both depending on the specific client
Because while most coaches solely teach methods based off their own experiences with them
Part of coaching people and having done so for years at this point for me is that you base what you’re doing off the individual in front of you
Even if it means at times challenging your own experiences and biases to do so
