What a week València Gay Games 2026! We’ll post a bit of a round up later but this one feels grid-worthy. Congratulations to our Rangers 1s who did the club proud winning the Div 2 comp today. 8 games in 4 days in sweltering heat - it’s been brutal but we wouldn’t change it!

Hola! We are very excited to be participating in the València Gay Games 2026 which kicks off this weekend. 34 Rangers and many more supporters have made the long trip (and snapped the obligatory SYD selfie) if we don’t take the trophy home we’re blaming the jet lag. Looking forward to an incredible week and stay tuned for updates! 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ ⚽️

Sending love to everyone mourning the loss of Maxi Shield.
She brought joy, generosity, and her unmistakable sparkle to every space she touched - including the night this photo was taken at our Drag Bingoal fundraiser on 13 February 2025.
Maxi championed inclusivity and celebration in ways that shaped our community for the better.
Her legacy lives on.

What a day at Camdenville Oval!! Our 2026 Intraclub Day brought together players from across the Sydney Rangers family for a full morning of football, connection, and community pride.
A huge thank you to Heaps Normal and Beresford Sundays their ongoing support - their presence and partnership continue to lift our club culture in all the right ways.
We were also pleased to welcome Ron Hoenig MP, who joined us pitch‑side to meet our players and see firsthand the inclusive sporting community we’re building here in the inner west.
And a special shout‑out to the Inner West Council for the recent upgrades at Camdenville. The improved surface and facilities made a real difference to the day and to our home ground experience.
From the games to the BBQ to the sea of blue shirts around the ground, it was everything we love about this club - welcoming, energetic, and proudly ourselves.
Play with Pride. ⚽️💙🏳️‍🌈

And a big thank you to Geoff Tripp for the brilliant shots

More playable fields mean fewer cancellations when the weather doesn’t cooperate

Support local all-weather fields ⚽

After years of advocacy and community engagement, the proposals for two all-weather fields in Callan Park are finally on display, and it’s time to have your say!

Sign the petition: https://www.change.org/callanpark

Balmain & District Football Club and Leichhardt Saints Football Club have been collaborating with Inner West Council on the designs for over 18 months to ensure each field is designed specifically for its location in Callan Park.

These modern all-weather fields will replace existing turf fields – one at Balmain Road Sports Ground and the other replacing Field 2 at Waterfront Drive Sports Ground – which, despite millions of dollars of investment in couch turf, drainage and maintenance, simply can’t handle the intensity of usage of two local football clubs with over 4,000 active players.

The design of each all-weather field includes:
✅ natural infill (no rubber crumb here!) to manage heat issues
✅ all runoff is directed through modern drainage and filtration systems
✅ micro-screen filter baskets capture loose organic infill or fibres, preventing them from entering the stormwater network
✅ a continuous 150mm perimeter kerb prevents lateral migration of materials
✅ defined entry and exit points with boot-cleaning zones to further reduce material movement
✅ no fences, so public access is unchanged
✅ no trees removed – both fields have big shade profiles from mature trees
✅ improved pedestrian access for people with physical and mobility issues

Expert assessment concludes that runoff from the proposed fields is managed to a higher standard than existing turf fields, which currently rely on fertilisers, herbicides and pesticides.

Grass fields also require up to 4 million litres of water per year, whereas these ALL-WEATHER fields will be sustainable in drought years as well as keeping thousands of local kids playing in wet weather!

With each all-weather field occupying less than 1% of the vast 61 hectares of space at Callan Park, it’s time to open Callan Park to our community and provide modern sporting facilities to support a healthy, active lifestyle for everyone.
