Sacrifice

Well the girls tell me this is a big one.

A broken, brand new nail on gym equipment. Our favorite Olympian Eloise Wellings getting the job done with us in the gym.

Elite Marathoner, 5 x Commonwealth Games rep and / 2 x Olympian with 3 young kids, runs a charity, has a business and in her 40’s still being elite. Impressive much?

Elzy did say something that really should hit home to all distance runners or athletes out there.

“I have to be consistent with my gym Jock, its not even just about injury prevention, i feel so much more powerful every stride when I’m doing it regularly. Even when I’m fatiguing in races and training my form remains efficient.”

Science has shown this, but its also very powerful coming out of the mouth of the recent Sutherland to Surf Winner and 2nd place in last weeks City to Surf.

One of the “Godmothers” of Australian distance running and 27 years a pro runner, its a privilege for our athletes to have Elzy pump iron with us for the past decade and a half.

If you’re a runner and a periodized , specific gym plan isnt part of what you always do, it might be time!

DM us for help.

PS: no Olympians were upset in the making of this photo! She’s joking

Don’t you love it when one of uour online cricketers training in England sends you this in pre season training for the New Zealand season.

2km TT
By himself
On grass

Remember, cricketers are not distance runners. They do need a strong endurance motor as they operate for long periods with high heart rates, multiple times in a day.

They also need to be powerful, have exceptional sprint ability, over and over in a day, oh yes and have highly trained complex cricket skills needed to be imparted over 5 full days in a match. Well that’s if they want to be a high performer.

We want our cricketers, and particularly our fast bowlers under 7mins for their 2km as a small, but important part of their physical prep. 10 of ours have already hit that mark, mid pre season.

Most of our players end up well under 7mins, and so far Jock McKenzie is the fastest this year. Must be his name.

Well done Jock, keep up the great work.

For remote online training programs check our bio, of course only if you want to be your best.
