It started with an InBody scan. It ended at Bondi Beach. ๐โโ๏ธ๐
On April 8, Sam sat down with us for an InBody scan and goal-setting session.
Heโd spent a long time training for body composition and had reached his leanest physique yet.
So the question became: what do we work towards now?
We decided it was time to shift the goal from how his body looked to what his body could do.
The target: City2Surf. 14km. August.
A training plan was set, and then Sam did the part that actually matters, he followed it.
Every week, he ran.
He mixed up the locations. Changed the distances. Played with his pace. Challenged himself a little more when he felt good.
And after pretty much every run, a Strava screenshot landed in Bradโs messages.
The screenshots in this reel are those updates, four months of quietly stacking one run on top of another.
Then on Sunday, Sam lined up for his first-ever fun run and ran the 14km from College Street to Bondi Beach.
He finished in under two hours, was stoked with his run and his time, and officially ticked off the goal weโd written down four months earlier. โ
Before City2Surf, Sam was pretty adamant this would also mark the end of his running careerโฆ
Weโre not convinced.
That smile in the finishing photo looks suspiciously like someone who might already be thinking about the next one. ๐
Sam, weโre bloody proud of you.
Not just for the 14km on Sunday, but for all those ordinary runs in the weeks beforehand when nobody was watching.
Goal set April 8.
Work done every week.
Goal achieved August 9.
Now the only question isโฆ
Whatโs next? ๐
And if youโve been thinking that you need a new goal too, this is exactly where we start.
Our 28-Day Kickstart begins with understanding where youโre at, what you want to achieve and putting a proper training plan around it.
Your goal might be losing body fat. Getting stronger. Feeling fit again. Or working towards something you havenโt even considered yet.
You donโt need to have it all figured out before you start.
Thatโs our job.
๐ Check out the 28-Day Kickstart and see if 6X is the right fit for you.

๐โโ๏ธ CITY2SURF DONE! ๐
Huge shoutout to 6X member Sam and trainer Matt for taking on the City2Surf today! ๐
Sam set himself the goal, put in the work and got the result. For the past 9 weeks, heโs been getting a run in every single week, with the Strava proof sent through after every one
Today it paid off, running 14km to Bondi in under 2 hours! ๐ช๐ฅ
Matt also crossed the finish lineโฆ although his official time has been declared classified information ๐ค๐
This is what we love seeing at 6X. Training isnโt just about what happens inside the gym, itโs about building the fitness and confidence to go out and take on something you might not have thought you could do.
Massive effort from both of you. Congratulations Sam & Matt! ๐
๐
And if seeing these two smash out City2Surf has you thinking you might need a challenge of your ownโฆ ๐
Our next 6 Week Challenge is coming this October.
We havenโt officially launched it yet but weโve quietly opened up a sneak peek for anyone who wants to see what weโve got planned.

"She knows how to push me to help me get to my goals."
That's what Gwenael said about training with Matilda at our Maroubra studio. Five stars, but the words hit harder than the rating.
Because a good trainer isn't someone who just counts your reps. It's someone who knows when you've got one more in the tank, when to back off, and when to call you on the excuse you didn't even realise you were making.
That's the difference between a session and a program. Between showing up and actually moving forward. Matilda's been doing it with Gwenael week after week, and the results speak for themselves.
If you've been training on your own and the needle isn't moving, this is what you're missing. Real coaching. Real attention. Real progress.
Come meet the team in Maroubra. ๐ช

Your jeans fit looser. The scale hasn't budged in two weeks. You're ready to quit.
Don't.
What you're experiencing has a name: body recomposition. Fat going down, muscle going up, weight staying flat. It's one of the most common reasons our Maroubra clients almost give up right before things really start clicking.
Weight is one number. Your body is four: fat mass, muscle mass, water balance, visceral fat. A standard bathroom scale can't see any of them shifting.
Swipe through for what's actually happening when the scale lies. ๐ช

Stepped on the scale this morning in Maroubra and felt that familiar sinking feeling? Same number. Six weeks of effort. Zero "progress."
Here's what your scale never told you: that number is one of the least useful data points we track at 6X.
The word you actually need is ๐ฏ๐ผ๐ฑ๐ ๐ฐ๐ผ๐บ๐ฝ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป /BOD-ee kom-puh-ZI-shun/. The split between fat mass and muscle mass that determines how your body looks, moves, and performs.
Two people can weigh exactly the same and look completely different. One carries 32% body fat. The other carries 22% and 4kg more muscle. Same scale reading. Totally different bodies.
This is why we run InBody scans with our clients instead of cheering at the bathroom scale. You can be down 3kg of fat, up 1kg of muscle, and the scale barely budges. That's not a plateau. That's a win the scale is too dumb to show you.
If you're training hard and the number isn't moving, you might not be stuck. You might just be measuring the wrong thing.

June in Maroubra. The mornings are cold, the bed is warm, and your gym bag hasn't moved in a week.
We see it every winter. Attendance dips, motivation cools off with the weather, and good habits built in summer start to slide. We get it. Pulling the doona back at 5:45am when it's 8 degrees outside is genuinely hard.
Here's what we've learned after 13 winters in the Eastern Suburbs: the people who get the best results aren't the ones who train hardest in October. They're the ones who keep showing up in July.
Winter is the quiet separator. Most people drift for 12 weeks, gain a few kilos, and tell themselves January is the reset. The ones who stay consistent through June, July and August walk into spring already ahead. Leaner, stronger, and not starting from scratch.
You don't need to be motivated. You need to be booked in. Three sessions a week, same days, same times. Show up cold and grumpy if you have to. We'll handle the rest. โ
If your training has gone quiet the last two weeks, this is your nudge. Lock the week in before the cold settles further.

Most people spend 60 minutes in the gym and train for maybe 20 of them.
The rest? Scrolling, resting too long, wandering between machines, second-guessing the next set. We've watched it happen for years in gyms around Maroubra, and it's the single biggest reason people put in the hours but don't see the change.
At 6X, every session is timed for a reason. Not to rush you. To respect you.
Here's what that looks like:
- A structured program so you walk in knowing exactly what to do
- A coach watching your technique on every rep
- Rest periods that match your goal, not your phone notifications
- Progress tracked so we can prove the work is paying off
45 focused minutes will out-train 90 distracted ones, every time. That's the quiet discipline behind a worn stopwatch, and behind every client who finally sees results after years of trying.
Every second counts. Every session builds. โฑ

Two people started training in January. One joined a gym. One got a coach.
It's June. Only one of them is still showing up.
This isn't a knock on gym memberships. They genuinely work for some people. If you already know how to program your sessions, you're consistent without anyone watching, and you've got clear goals you're hitting, a gym membership is the smarter spend. Access to equipment is all you need.
But here's what we see at our Maroubra studio every week. People who've tried that path before. Who paid for 12 months and used it for 6 weeks. Not because they're lazy. Because nobody noticed when they stopped.
A gym gives you a room.
A coach gives you a plan, weekly progress tracking, and someone who texts when you miss a Tuesday.
Best for a gym membership:
โ Self-motivated and consistent
โ Already know what to do
โ Just need space and equipment
Best for personal training:
โ Tried the gym and stalled
โ Want measurable results in a set timeframe
โ Need structure and accountability to stay on track
The real reason most people stall isn't a lack of equipment. It's a lack of structure. Figure out which one you actually need, then commit to it properly.
If that second list sounds like you, come have a chat with us in Maroubra.

Same weights. Same sessions. Same effort. So why did the results stop?
Every Maroubra local who's been training consistently hits this wall. You're not lazy. You're not doing it wrong. Your body is just really good at its job.
There's a name for what's happening, and most gyms never bother to explain it.
Quick analogy inside: think staircase vs. treadmill. Once you see it, you can't unsee why your last 8 weeks felt flat.
