Congrats to everyone who tackled the Sydney Marathon today 🏆

With the start line almost on our doorstep in North Sydney… it would’ve been rude not to throw some block runs into our Saturday Sweat…

That was enough for us though 😅

You runners are absolute savages 🙌🏼

Building your first strict ring muscle-up? 👇🏼

Here’s how we’re helping Claudia do the same.

It starts with developing the prerequisite strength:

5 deep dips
5 ring chin-ups, pulling nice and high

While that strength is developing, we’re working on the control and technique needed for a smooth transition through the rings.

Once that’s there… we put it all together and go for it!

Keep your eyes peeled to see if Claudia can get her first one by the end of September 👊🏼

💡 We spend a lot of time thinking about our hands in a handstand…

But right now, we’re teaching our members to feel what the rest of the body is doing too.

Your fingers are gripping the floor.
Your shoulders are pushing tall.
Your midline is keeping everything stacked.
Even your legs and toes are helping you find and maintain balance.

From your fingertips to your toes, everything has a job.

That’s when a handstand starts to feel less like you’re fighting to stay upside down… and more like something you can actually control.

Everyone loves seeing the finished product 👇🏼

The muscle up.
The handstand.
The first pull over.

What people don’t always see are the hundreds of holds, hangs and controlled basics that came first.

And the funny thing is… you never stop doing them.

Our newest members are learning them.
Our most experienced members are refining them.

That’s why you’ll see someone working on a muscle up in class… then moments later doing the same support hold as everyone else.

Because the basics aren’t where you start.
They’re what the big skills are built on 🧱

⚠️ Muscle ups don’t belong in conditioning workouts…

At least, that’s what most people believe.

❌ They’re too technical.
❌ Not everyone can do them.
❌ They’ll scare people away.

We see it differently.

Yesterday’s Sweat class included 25 muscle ups… for everyone.

That probably sounds a little crazy if you’ve never trained like this before.

But not everyone was doing the same version.

Some members were on the rings, others were on the bar, some were using bands, and others were working through jumping progressions.

💭 It’s pretty cool seeing members of all different abilities share the same challenge.

Because that’s what great coaching does.

It preserves the purpose while meeting you where you’re at.

Testing Week hits hardest when the whole room is winning 👊🏼

New strength PBs.
More muscle ups.
Longer handstand walks.

Plenty of moments that had the whole gym cheering 🙌🏼

But the numbers only tell half the story.

What we’re really celebrating is the weeks of consistency and hard work that made these moments possible!

We had way too much action to fit into one post … but here are a few of the big wins we managed to capture 🏆

Proud of this crew.
Let’s see what we can build next 👊🏼

The workouts get you through the door.
The people keep you coming back.

Social Saturday was another reminder of that.

It was awesome seeing so many new faces join us this morning. We hope you had an epic time with us!

And to our OG members… thank you for helping create the incredible environment we’ve built at PP 🙏

A place where you can train hard, chase big goals and do it alongside a bunch of absolute legends 👊🏼

Still chasing the perfect workout?
😬 That’s where people get stuck.

Jumping between programs.
Trying random workouts.
Hoping one clicks.

💡 But the best program?
The one you stick to.

And we’ve all felt it… show up for a team, and everything lifts 🙌🏼

You push harder.
You go further.
You enjoy it more.

At PP, we handle the programming and create the vibe

You just show up,
train with your team 🤜🏼🤛🏼
and the gains take care of themselves.

Working hard… but not actually getting stronger?

You’re not the only one.

💡 Most people don’t struggle to get going…
they struggle to keep going.

So what happens?

❌ Go all in
❌ Drop off
❌ Repeat

And progress stalls.

Strength isn’t built that way.

It’s built from following a plan.
Progressing it over time.
And actually giving it long enough to make real gains 💪🏼

That’s how we LIFT at Performance Playground.

✔️ Structured 12 week cycles
✔️ Clear progressions
✔️ Testing to track your improvement

And for those wanting to go deeper…

Our OLY LIFT classes give you the space to refine weightlifting technique and actually hit PBs 🏆

Curious to try it for yourself?
Send us a message and come experience a class for yourself 💪🏼

Doing all the drills… but still not improving?

You’re not the only one.

Most people don’t have a clear path.
Just random progressions… hoping something sticks.

So what happens?

❌ Skipping steps
❌ Rushing reps
❌ Getting stuck

At Performance Playground, we do things differently.

Structure.
Consistency.
Actual progress.

We help you build the mobility, strength and skills to:

✔️ Move better
✔️ Feel stronger
✔️ Unlock handstands and muscle-ups

All inside our gymnastics classes
with a crew that’s all working towards the same thing 🤜🏼🤛🏼
